According to Boxing News its a possible as Ramirez won't be ready in time.

I like Dean but I cannot see anyway he wins this fight, I am not sure to be honest he gets out of the first couple of rounds.

Anyone heard if this is on or not and whats your views guys, not quite sure how the WBO can sanction it for the interim title if thats what they do.

Doesn't look good for Francis IMO. One of my fave ever British fighters, and I know he's won at cruiserweight.

It looked like he was being slowly supersceded by youg Cleverly, the old indirect route of Cleverly fringing his way on the domestic/Commonwealth scene with vacant titles - at light heavyweight. If they ever squared off, Cleverly would have the activity, the freshness, to poss win the fight.

Either that or be a WBO sacrifice for Maccarinelli. Mac's too big. But Francis is another fighter that I hope desperately puts Big Mac's lights out. Then again francis v Mac is better than Francis v Ayittey Powers 2.

Should Francis have taken that shot at Erdei?

Enzo would easily beat Dean, Dean's shot and can barely use two arms to box.

He's getting on a bit, is undersized, and somewhat one-armed - but not shot. Perhaps the Oakey fight was his last top performance.

I don't think Francis is shot but I always worry about his right shoulder. From experience (I have a constantly dislocating, recently pinned shoulder) you never fully recover from the sort of serious injuries that Dean has suffered.

Not sure if he would have won "easily." Workrate, pressure, strong sawn off guy is the style to trouble the classy, unhurried Francis even on his best day. As the exciting battle with Mark Baker proved.

I think with Francis winning Commonwealth and British titles by KO he's proven he's not shot. Francis been fighting exceptionally well under the circumstances (time out, problematic right arm).

Absolutely awful fight - as good as Francis is, he would be bullied by Maccarinelli who only recently fought at "Heavyweight"!!!

Yet another mis-match for Enzo!!!! to be fair he has had one competitive fight in his whole career and got his block knocked off within 2 rounds.

Francis should wait because Erdei would be easier

Francis is an old super-middleweight with a bad shoulder, he'd have no chance.

It's not like Francis is a small LH - iirc he looked a good deal bigger than Oakey (admittedly not the biggest LH himself) when they shared a ring. And it's not like Enzo is a big cruiser either. Lanky, but not physically imposing.

Yes Dean is getting a little long in the tooth, and has a history of injuries, but he's a very sound boxer who should be able to avoid soaking up punishment, and ask a few questions of his own. As a late-ish replacement he's not too bad and, lets face it, Enzo has been in worse fights...

The big thing, and the real reason I think people are complaining, is that this bill is (allegedly) rapidly decending from a belter to another ho-hum SN card.

Not sure if he'll be a good cruiser though, and the differences in freshness and size will likely be apparent early.

But Deano is a very nifty boxer, and I hope he can show Enzo a few things early on.
