Will have to say SN are blameless in this
In saying that though, I've never heard of a fighter at Barrera's level fighting twice in 6 weeks
If the fights off he needs to find a top guy. Prescott rematch? Just over a months notice isnt great but I'm sure someone of quality can be brought in

I dunno. If you sign a contract with a fighter I would expect the contract to state they cant fight in-between.
I'm gonna download the fight and try and get a screen grab and upload it for you lot

Whats slightly surprising is Rojas was still in the fight, Has Barrera lost his power at the higher weight?

You have got it spot on.
The only exception to this would be fights for "journeymen" but a fight of this magnitutde - I find it strange that MAB was even allowed to breath let alone fight prior to the Khan fight.

Was this fight ever on, its strange we not heard much from MAB, also the box office details not been annouced. If this does not come off FW promotions is becoming a joke.

It is all getting rather strange. shame really because its a good fight for Khan - I believe Khan would win and look good in doing so.

No way mate - They simply have to bring in a name - with Maccarinelli struggling to get a big fight - this Khan/MAB thing absolutely needs some unequivocal clarification.
Depends what the PPV contract stipulates - This will be the first time I do not pay the PPV if this fight falls on its arse!!!

Ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera (65-6, 43 KOs) won by third round disqualification over emergency replacement Freudis Rojas (1-8-1) on Saturday night at the Auditorio Telmex de la UG in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. Rojas was DQ’d for a headbutt which left Barrera with a bad gash over his left eye. The cut could jeopardize Barrera’s scheduled March 14 clash against Amir Khan in Manchester, England. Barrera was originally slated to face John Nolasco on Saturday night, but Nolasco didn’t show up at the weigh-in, so Marco Antonio was pressed into facing Rojas, whom he knew absolutely nothing about.
With Barrera taking on this sort of fight - and it lasting until the 3rd round it tells me what sort of condition he is in for Khan even if they were to fight - sorry people if the fight happens rush to the bookies and put as much money as you can on a Khan stoppage!!!

I feel sorry for the people that already bought tickets, but happy that all the touts that snapped up the £100 and £85 so that we couldn't are screwed.

Thing is Emerz - what is really going to grate on people is what the hell was MAB taking a fight only 6 weeks prior to the "supposed" Khan fight - it leave this open to "opinion and speculation" to those who thought the fight was not on in the first place.
Personally I actually think the fight was made and was on - but someone at SN needs a kick up the backside for not "tieing" MAB down in the contract with regards to fights taken in "a certain few weeks" prior to the fight!!!

Here's the cut and the head clash. Looks about 3 to 4 inches and deeeeep. Unfortunately the TV station got no other shot of the cut (after the fight the cameraman is to the right of Marco). Meeting a mate and his Missus at lunch. She's a nurse, so I will be asking how long a cut like that takes to heal.
Hopefully a journo has taken a much better pick.
Apologies for the quality, my Azteca TV contact said this is the best quality he could provide me with.
