Yeah, good honest account of his life and career both Amatuer and professional.

Strikes me as an incredibly strong willed and intelligent individual. Maybe stubborn to a fault.

A great british fighter nonetheless, and should be straight in to any British Boxing Hall of Fame.

I've got it. Its a good read. You have to order it direct from him (or his daughter if I remember right).
You can ask for it signed too.

Sky Sports News listed undefeated World Champions this morning and missed Terry out. He never gets the credit for that.

I remember in his last fight him having some banter with Hector Camacho? who was ringside during clinches. Bizzare.

today Rob Lewis in the Times said that Calzaghe was the first ever British undefeated world champion - sheesh!

I've only heard about Terry Marsh. Apparently he was accurate but lacked the fire power to keep his man down.

Actually, I'd only heard about the Warren incident. Never heard a thing about his fighting style.

Firstly, it's Ron, and I would however point out that I did not say that in my article.

I supplied a list of perfect records (ie no defeats or draws) which incorrectly went in as a list of unbeaten records (bit of a rush). They needed an extra one to fill the space, so I stuck in Chris John on account of his draw being essentially a no contest. But Lopez would have obviously been another who had one draw, while active guys with shorter unbeaten records, like Froch, Bute, Valero, Dawson, would have made the list enormous.
I think Sky just copied that list.

On the subject of Marsh, I remember sharing a seat at ringside with his brother the night he won the world title in a tent in Basildon (one of the few times I was glad someone near me was on their feet much of the night).

He was essentially a stand-up fighter with a huge engine, no great power or speed by absolutely relentless. His best win was over Clinton McKenzie at a leisure centre at Shoreditch, which was a really cracking fight.
