Darchinyan by ko. I think he's tougher and hits harder than Arce. That's whats gonna count, because this won't be a boxing match.

Darchinyan would be my pick, but very impressed that Setanta are showing it live. It's the sort of fight 2 years ago that would have been scrabbling round for a clip somewhere.

Great fight, but could be a short one. It's come a bit late in the day for Arce, and he's really up against it with vicious hitting Aussie - hope he pulls off the upset but gotta go with Darchinya KO5

Darchinyan is going to rip through Arce surprisingly easily IMO. Also fancy DeMarco to upset Kid Razkulov -or whatever you call him- on the undercard.

Darchinyan - I love Arce, but I think he is past his best now.

Originally picked Darchinyan inside 4 but when I went to the bookies today I couldn't resist having a fiver on Arce by KO/TKO at 5/1

With any luck, this could be a fight of the year candidate. Arce is as tough as they come, slipping a bit ( maybe ) but hits hard enough to trouble Vic if he connects....

Depends , it should be Vic and fairly easy at that, But Vic is a front runner and if he can be pushed back we know he can be stopped

The fight was last Night, Arce getting stopped iat the end of the 11th by cuts..

It was pretty one sided, Darchinyan was landing huge shots throughout the fight, Arce did have some success in rounds 4 & 5 but apart from that he did very little.

Fight of the year talk (I read it somewhere) is off the mark I think. It was an entertaining scrap with both giving their all but Vic's long arms caused Arce no end of problems and resulted in the Mexican diving in from out of range and lopping airplane shots all night. Fair play to Darchinyan though; I've never been a fan but his accomplishments are undeniable. Strange to see Arce cutting his eye on the ropes! Not seen that before.

Arce did better than I thought he would, but Vic still controlled the fight with his speed and movement. He was as more boxer than brawler. It shouldn't have been stopped though, not at all. Arce's cuts weren't nearly as bad as some i've seen and although he was hurt at the end of round 11, he still had all his senses intact to go. Still there was only ever going to be one winner at this stage of their career's.

Update: Arce Rushed To Hospital
While he appeared to be in a stable condition in the ring immediately after his boxing match loss to Vic Darchinyan on Saturday night, Mexican super flyweight Jorge Arce was later rushed to hospital experiencing uneven blood pressure and difficulties in breathing.

29 year-old Arce was reportedly alert and responsive during the trip to a local Anaheim, California hospital.

Arce took a huge amount of punishment, taking a lot of power shots in Rnd 11, they certainly made the correct decision in stopping it!

Predictable victory for Vic. I just can't warm to the guy though. He was a dickafter Nonaire clocked him and saying "I wish I could have knocked him out cold" about Arce isn't exactly endearing.

I hope Nonaire wins the WBO title and they can rematch for all the cookies.

Brave fighter is Arce, he took some hammering punches in there. In the 3rd it looked like he might have a chance, but Vic just about took over after that.
It was painful to watch him half blind & shipping punishment in the 11th - the ref should have given him a break there & had the doc check his cut and at least clean it up a bit - I mean why not? 11 long hard rounds and his face covered in blood...

Vic is a hell of a fighter - but it shows you just how good Donaire must be, to beat him like that. He looks like he might have Vic's number, that punch he KO'd him with was as good as it gets.

Darchinyan's looking great at the moment. 3 stoppages in good company in 3 consecutive fights. A proper warrior. Arce has a hard head to take all those uppercuts. Arce deserved the shot, as he brings some star power and was on a good run winning the WBA Intrim title and stopping Rafael Concepcion (Concepcion stopped big Filipino prospect AJ Banal in his previous fight).

I think when Donaire beat him, Vic had abandoned his boxing skills as he was simply walking through flyweights. Donaire was a lot bigger and a lot better than expected.

I don't think Vic needs to fight him again. Surely there are fighters that Donaire can't beat also. Vic's poss gunning for IBF bantam champ Agbeko and event wants WBC 122 king Vazquez! (Vazquez a bridge too far surely). If he's willing to go for fights like that there should be no looking back.

Personally I'd love to see Vic vs WBO flyweight champ Omar Narvaez. Narvaez has 15 WBO title defences, moslty at home, and stopped that quality Yank Raytona Whitfield in 10 last night. Obviously will take a lot to get the Argie away from home but Darchinyan is the money fight for everyone at 112-115 pounds. Narvaez is sensational when he throws the combos.

Unless Nonaire puts on a few more pounds it will not happen. Word on the street says the Vic will be handing over his titles and moving up to Bantomweight.
