Hello Forum,

I would like to use this thread for anyone to say what they feel they need to concerning Clinton Woods and his fight this Saturday against Elvir Muriqi in Jersey.

For me I think its a hard fight for Clinton - certainly harder than what some people have said to me - with one person stating Clinton should get Muriqi out of there by the half way mark - I personally think the fight is going to points and it could be close - what are your thoughts on the fight and has anyone seen Muriqi fight, especially the one against Tarver where there are some who say he should have got the decision.

I am told the officials for the fight are as follows:

Ref - Howard Foster

Judge 1 - Ian John Lewis

Judge 2 - Italian Judge (??)

Judge 3 - Polish Judge

For those interested I will be making a call to a couple of people on here to let you all know how the fight is getting on and any other snipits of what is going on.

Muriqi and his team are in Jersey now - Clinton arrives in the next 24 hrs!!!

Will the be a camera at the bill, Spud - try selling it on ebay.

Note - I am not taking the mick cause of what happend with ITV... just genually think it is avenue for none TV bills.

Something I have preached for a while with all promoters. You can get copyright protection to stop traders making copies.

Thats what I thought untill I tried copying a 2008 DVD for my class (as we only had 1 master copy which usually gets lost). I thought I knew alot of the tricks - but I couldn't copy it.

Has anyone managed to get any betting on this fight?

I am told someone has got money on Muriqi who has been quoted as the favourite for the fight - if that is the case I am l coming out of "betting retirement" to have a bundle on Clinton!!!

A year ago, I think Woods would win, but he's getting on a bit now and his confidence may have taken a knock after being beaten so soundly by Tarver, who in turn was trounced by Dawson. Obviously I have no inside info as to Woods' mindset, but he was just so disappointing against Tarver, I struggle to see a world-class future for him, especially at 36. Therefore I'd have to go for the younger, apparently hungrier, Muriqi, presumably on points. Hope I'm wrong, though.

I am in Jersey now - just met Elvir Muriqi - have done a bit of an interview with him - taking him to the gym now but will get some of the questions and answers up here later for those interested.

BTW - there is something being sorted with regards TV - Not at liberty to say too much at this stage - no thats not because I know something and dont want to say but the dotting of the I's and crossing of the Ts has to be done - its a shame though because it wont be live for you guys - I believe some sort of highlights package is being sorted.

Stu & Whoever Else mentioned it with regards to the Internet option that is being investigated right now and thank you very much for that idea - some guy who knows his stuff with regards to the internet and the DVD idea etc etc all of that was being discussed - in fact the bloke who Dennis had a meeting with mentioned this forum as well as others with regards to putting more fights open to the internet fans - to be honest it all got a bit technichal and I had a ham & cheese toastie to eat so I didn't listen too much!!!

Will get that interview with Muriqi up a little later - very interesting guy - because he was from Kosovo - I thought his hunger and desire to do well come from being from a country where times were hard - but he comes from a very well to do family who emigrated to the states before all the troubles started in Kosovo and they all now reside in New York!!!

Incidentally due to his country of origin etc etc - there were big problems getting VISAs etc etc and up to a couple of days ago Dennis thought he was going to have to call in a replacement which he had on stand by - thank f*ck that didn't need to be used.

This Muriqi guy is one laid back cool dude - I have got used to the bravado that fighters always say they are ready etc etc and they are going to win - but this guy is overflowing with confidence and really knows the sport inside and out.

There is a "listen live" button on their website mate, but I'm crap with Computers.
I just sit back with awe when I read what you lot are up to with streams and podcasts and watching boxing free over the net.
I ain't got a clue.

After check weigh ins - both camps seem very happy - Muriqi is bang on the weight now - their camp seem really hopeful - Buudy MGirt is coming across and Brad Jacobs who was/is RJJs promoter/manager or advisor is here already.

For anyone thinking of having a bet - personally I see the fight going the distance - Muriqi is stating quite openly he feels Clinton Woods is wide open for the left hook to the body - whether that is a smokescreen - we will see.

Muriqi's and his co trainer's bags got lost at heathrow and so didn't get their bags until late last night - they seem a very chilled and laid back team - excellent to deal with.

Weigh in is at 1630hrs tomorrow!!!

Main question for me is , Has Clinton still got the desire?
He has put on some performances in the past where he had to dig really deep to get the win, if this fight goes the same way, will he still have that fighting spirit to keep going?

Muriqi on points. Has Woods got the desire at 36? Muriqi seems a hungry and improved fighter. But at his best Clinton is better. Just think he's past his best. Muriqi is 9/2 on points if you fancy or 5/2 outright. Clinton is 2/7 outright or 8/13 on points.
