Jon said it was ok for me to post..Thanks Jon. ...I went ahead and published a Book on "1980's Boxing." The book covers this fantastic time frame from start to finish. Whether is was the 1982 "Classic" Heavyweight showdown between Gerry Cooney and Larry holmes or the "Brawl in Montreal" between Duran and Leonard. The book has it all and is a must is a must read for all boxing fans and the price is good. So far Joe Deguardia and Teddy Atlas are currently reading it. The book now has a website, please review. http://pat23185.tripod.com/1980sboxing/ To acquire a copy simply contact me. Thanks Pat

the book sounds interesting as that was my era of getting into boxing, thanks to all the
great saturday and sunday afternoon CBS/NBC/ABC coverage. my one question ...why is the cover shot from a fight only a couple of years old?

That is a good question.....Unfortunaltely I had a hard time geting a picture and was able to reach a boxing photogrpahger on the west coast and she had only recent fights. I needed a picture so I used it anyhow and at her request the book is dedicated to the late Diego Corralles....

thanks for the answer ! thought it might have been some sort of licencing problem. the 80's were a great weekend boxing time. too bad i was a poor college student and didn't own a vcr until about half way through the decade.
