This is outrageous. They were advertising the fight how can they not show it? At this late stage a petition is going to do no good, what you need to do is take direct action and [Edited by mod] at Setanta on [Edited by mod] If enough people call and threaten to withdraw their subscription they will show the fight. Everyone has been paying £10 a month for the boxing coverage and the football and bit by bit they are taking it away. Ring them now and lets see if people power can get the Jennings fight shown to his legions who can't afford to pay for the trip to New York.

SETANTA Sports have came under fire from boxing fans after concerns that Michael Jennings’ world title fight won't be screened live.

In the build-up to Jennings’ clash against Miguel Cotto, the Irish-based sports broadcaster had promised that the fight would be televised live in the early hours of Sunday morning, along with the WBC/WBO Middleweight showdown between Kelly Pavlik and Marco Antonio Rubio.

However, in the past couple of days, Setanta have removed all advertising of the Jennings bout on their website and sports channels.

On their website, a statement reads: “The Cotto-Jennings fight is not confirmed as being shown on Setanta this weekend.”

Setanta have stated that they are 'contractually unable' to show the fight, but insist they are 'working hard' to screen it.

In the meantime, Setanta's website has been besieged by angry Jennings supporters and boxing fans who have taken out subscriptions to watch the fight.

Andy who owns the rights to the fight? Are top rank holding out for a better deal? Are setanta holding out for a cheaper deal giving the economy.

Well, Jennings is a allegedly fighter. Perhaps he is the guy who is holding things up with Setanta for this fight...

what a joke. Setanta are already charging customers over the odds, now their not showing the more intriguing fights. Most english or british people would much rather watch cotto v jennings than pavlik v rubio!

If it's not going to be shown live then does this mean they're showing it on some sort of delay or what? I thought Setanta had a dealing with Top Rank so what's the problem exactly

A real man of the people aren't you. Maybe if you ring her they might offer to show the Olympians bill next weekend too? Shouldn't you be just as concerned that as things stand nobody knows what channel (if any) they're on either.

It is ridiculous that this is not being shown.

Can boxingchat tell us if allegedly allegedly is anything to do with this or is it a setanta-top rank issue?

Also, well said Billy - I cancelled Sky sports and stuck with Setanta only because of the tosh churned out by warren et al

I DO agree that this fight should be live.

However, in boxing it is often the case that things that are advertised do not happen for one reason or another.

Lets not worry too much about the law boys

Why on earth do you think that Boxingchat is on about this, simple its a case of take Cotto/Jennings and you take the Olympians on the 28th as well. Its a package and comes together.

Bloody good job to setanta in saying B******s Frank paid too much for them so work it out yourself son

Nonsense, as usual the only people that suffer are the boxing fans

We are used to it, work it out frankie

It is a shame, I hope it is shown but perhaps Setanta are concerned that it is not competitive matchup and they are trying to take the highground compared to the mismatches which Sky are willing to show.
I'd love for Jennings to prove everyone wrong though, he has nothing to lose and I hope he sticks it right too Cotto, The Puerto Rican's confidence has to be a bit low after his previous beating.
I find it strange that one of FW's team is complaining that a show isn't going forward as advertised

Someone from Sports Network posting this? Singularly the most funny post I've ever seen on here...for all the wrong reasons.

I don't know whether to laugh or spew up.

....so much for the top rank deal

we don't know the ins and outs....but because there is a brit involved, perhap the promoter is holding out for more dough

....the thing is, in the states this is a ppv....giggle.....and it is being presented as one card albeit from different cities....what is cheeky is that, it appears for the international rights, toprank has split it into two, seperate events
