Anyone noticed Cleverly is fighting every 2 months earning cash. is Frank trying to make a statement to other boxers, leave joe's gym and get more fights? Starving other fighters, I wouldnt br suprised.

I hope that's not the case. I think its a real shame that cleverly has left Enzo's gym as he had trained there for years and not fallen out.I don't see why fwank and joe falling out should affect anyone else.I hope its not the case.

Nathan has done the right thing, by distancing himself from the Wazza / Calzaghe affair.
He's back with his dad - but can always return to Enzo when the dust's settled.
It's not rocket science.
Look at what's happened to Maccaroni, Pryce, Rees etc since Joe's departure.
Contracted to Wazza so he calls the shots.
The exact same approach as Wazza's with Wincobank after the Naz affair.

Is he really that thin skinned? It appears he is.He must have lost out on making some money thoguh as enzo, pryce and rees are big ticket sellers.

He definitely did with wincobank -I felt he lost out there as well as the fighters.

Maybe, all the Calzaghe gym with sign with Calzaghe promotions? that would make the market very competitive -the calzaghes would have blinding stable, Hennessy have a very established stable and so does Haymaker Promotions + Hatton's outfit coming up the side as well.If I was wazza i would fight hard to keep the likes of Enzo mc, pryce and rees.

Not sure if its factual, but if the author's in the know, I wouldn't be surprised.
Wazza has these guys tied to contracts not just Managerially, but Promotionally.
The fighters have to see out time or challenge the validity of the contract with the board.
The only way out is to allege inactivity.
Can't recall a fighter ever winning that one.
Hypothetically, imagine your a fighter in Wales, and your Manager / Promotor says move gyms and fight, stay or fester.
What would you do ?

Yes this is factual, came from a boxer promoted by Frank and these boxers are friends. Spoke to this boxer in a bar and it really opened my eyes. Dont want to name him because I would like to chat to him again.

I thought that, and perhaps rather niavely, it would'nt be as clear cut as this and that his problems would be with joe -who has now retired, adn that his bitterness might go away.Sounds like Calzaghe promotions are coming around at the right time for the Welsh fraternity.

It will be interesting to see if fwank changes his stance, as before he could do as he pleased, being THE big fish in the water, but not so much now.

So Enzo and Pryce are leaving Warren soon, eh? Will they get bumped down the WBO rankings, I wonder? Or will they keep their rankings?

Cleverly needs more competitive fights for his learning curve. I would be putting him in with the likes of opponents McIntosh is fighting - Barney and Spartacus, especially after the Oakey win. These Kenyans are just shit, both for Clev's development and for my eyes.

Ultimately Cleverly will suffer though as he now lacks the quality training and sparring he had in Newbridge

The other boys may suffer more though, this will prob all depend if Calzaghe promotions can get a TV deal as i'm sure JC won't blow his cash subsidising the rest of the stable

I'm certainly not saying that they are leaving Wazza.
Only the boxers know that.
This is only my take on things and I suspect they will be offered contract renewal terms, but strings attached. No 1 will be to find a new trainer.
Don't rule out dad following son - and retiring.

Decent English/fringe British title fighters, or useless Kenyans with weird records? I know the route I would like him to go. And at a push, I could live with that level of opposition at the moment, but come on, it's not fair to have them headlining Friday Fight Night's.

heh, sorry yes, i mean Cleverley fighting similar opposition to Danny 'everyone seems to hate him but I don't mind him meself' McIntosh would be good for him, and fewer kenyan 'lightheavyweight' sacrificial lambs would be good for us

Spot on, and obviously I know that Clev is a lot younger than Danny, but apart from Oakey (who took the fight at short notice), Clev's last two fights have been jokes. I mean does anyone think anything good come from knocking over two Kenyan bus cleaners?

Why did Cleverly leave by the way? i'd have thought sparring with 3 current (all now ex) world champions was as good as it gets, and having Enzo Calzaghe in your corner can't hurt much either.

Look at the career of Pryce, Rees and Maccrinelli - following the Warren/Joe Calzaghe split. What is it, one fight between them (against Matthew Ellis). Thats why he split, to get fights, to get money on the table.
