noticed that part 1 was loaded up 5 days ago and it is from about 3 weeks ago. any word on when there might be other parts uploaded. i wonder will we get to see some of the other parts before the fight. would be nice if there was a couple of parts from after the fight.

i wonder if there will be less pressure on gavin due to him not boxing at the olympics.

I think Gavin is the one turning pro with the highest expectations, olympics or no olympics. Degale won gold in an appalling competition and was not (correct me if I am wrong) ranked in the top five of the world in his division amateur whilst Gavin (again I am using a sketchy memory and no research) was ranked number one amateur.

I feel that Gavin has insiders juices flowing a lot more than any of the others.

May be worth a thread in itself. Which amateur star is likely to go further?

Aleksei Tishchenko was the favourite to win gold at Beijing. I don't know who has the most respected rankings, but when I looked at some lists, before the Olympics, Tischenko was number one. Gavin was definitely near the top though (2nd or 3rd, I think).

I don't think he ever got to number 1. Someone who's more into the amateurs will hopefully confirm.

i'm sure gavin was the new number one after he beat tischenko in the amateur competition before the olympics.

The only old rankings I can get my hands on are from Jan 08, where Frankie doesn't appear in the top 10.

yeah, that's an old rankings. at the time, tischenko was number one, not number 2, and i think gavin was in the top ten. he beat tischenko in the semi-finals to win gold in that tournament which was shown on tv, and he became the new number one. i think he was also favourite to win gold in the olympics aswell before having to pull out.

i know he was number one though after winning gold and beating tischenko.
