I'm oddly interested in this actually. Who do you think wins?

Gotta love the dude talking Mercer up in the article. Says Mercer beat a bloke ranked 5th in Europe. The chap - ex Audley victim Richel Hersisia. I bet he's not even 5th ranked on his street. Surprised his former world champ status didn't rate a mention as well.

But yep I think we are all intrigued about what happens when an MMA fell fights a boxer. Even a washed up one.

Mercer will lose. He is shot to bits, and has no business being in a moxing or mixed martial arts ring.Very sad.

Sylvia got outboxed by a 40+ Couture who’s primarily a wrestler so why not a 47 year old former pro? Horrible match up that I have very little interest in. I’m mildly curious about Arlovski’s stint in boxing if he gives it a go but I see him getting KO’ed pretty quickly.

I really like Arlovski, but unfortunately his chin will let him down in boxing. Shame, because he was looking good against Fedor, and Roach seems to think he's pretty handy.

He'd be better off making his money sticking in MMA, than coming to boxing where any decent heavyweight who catches him clean will KO him. :verysad:

Couture is also one of the best dirty boxers in the game.

Surprised you think Mercer will win this, Ed. Sylvia all the way for me.

Couture is a good dirty boxer but he isn’t much of a natural heavyweight or considered in any way a striker. Sylvia is/was only elite level because of his size because his skill level is pretty poor all considered. There aren’t many top 10-15 heavyweights who we would consider strikers that Couture could do that to.

That isn’t to say he might not win this fight, Mercer has no business still fighting.

In boxing though, Arlovski will have the benefit of not being hit with effectively bare fists. He's not go the best chin, but I think he will do ok in boxing, he looked pretty handy when I watched him before, definetly one of the better strikers, and a good athelete too.
