It should be a good fight, I reckon Monroe wins on points again, but Martinez is always going to be dangerous. Dunne shouldn’t be getting a title shot, Cordoba will kick his ass.

Dunne was a good amateur and he’s a popular kid but as a pro I haven’t seen anything to suggest that he can hang at world level.

When I watched Darren Sutherland in the amateurs I always thought he had a style that was suited to the pro game, I know its early days but I think Sutherland could be a future world champion.

hes on the undercard of moore. think munroe on points but id love to see martinez knock him out dont no what it is just cant seem to like munroe. dunne might no win the wba but hed won against munroe hes a better boxer an munroe no got power like martinez

looking forward to munroe against martinez. think munroe will win but he always needs to be on his guard because of martinez's power.

im irish and although id like dunne to win im doubtful. think its just too much of a step up. dunne has not fought any current world contender and im not a big fan of guys getting title shots without taking on someone ranked in the top 10. he has a few decent names on his record but i think most of them are on their way down. dont think he has done enough to earn a title shot especially when you look at his 3 opponents since the martinez knockout.

I think Munroe wins this the same as the first fight, easily on points and boringly.
The only way Munroe loses if he tries to mix it up with Martinez early on.

He'll be best served by being cagey all night like last time and refuse to engage him untill Martinez is spent. Then he can step it up from around the 8th on and maybe force a late stoppage.

While this is interesting from the point of view of the two fighter who are fighting, in terms of entertainment if it's anything like the last fight we're in for a real snoozer and that's what I think we'll get.


Munroe did have a chance to fight Cordoba but turned it down, as did Martinez so you can't really complain about Dunne getting the chance.
While Dunne hasn't faced the best opposition out there since his loss to Martinez, he has faced better opposition then Munroe has had for European defences and if not for the cut Eduardo Garcia http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hu ... &cat=boxer picked up in sparring Dunne would of fought him over Christian Faccio(who's 2 wins since the Dunne fight).

you cant really blame dunne for taking the fight when it was offered to him. it must be very hard to turn down a world title shot. im just saying i wish he had taken on a couple more contenders first before this fight. i think he is taking the fight too soon. being at home will help him though. granted garcia would have been a better opponent than faccio.

i would like to see dunne fight munroe at some stage due to the talk between frank maloney and brian peters. i wonder if either dunne or martinez will be at the fight tonight.

I understand what your saying and you are right that it would be better if Dunne had gotten some tougher fights in before this but as you said it's not the type of situation you can turn down in Dunne's position.

I really hope Dunne v Munroe eventually happens not matter what happens in the near future. Even in the most unlikely scenario of Dunne beating Cordoba and Munroe losing tonight I'd still like to see it happen, I just don't think it will. Two stubborn men will keep them apart.

I'm giving Dunne a 20/25% chance of getting the better of Cordoba, but most likely the Panamanian will prove too tough.
I just wonder will Dunne have to move up in weight if he loses not because he really has to but because he'll be froze out at European level at S.Bantamweight, cause Maludrottu will be the next mandatory and it's a mandatory tonight so Dunne couldn't even force his chance till August 2010.

I'm interested to see what Maloney does with Munroe, he says he won't put him in a World title fight until he can actually win it(mocking Peters' putting Dunne in with Cordoba aswell), but no offence to Munroe I don't think that day will ever come. So does he just keep defending the European title till he loses or retires then ?

meant to say dunne or peters. hope martinez is there or there wont be much of a fight. if dunne does not win he might well have to move up as he wont have many options left. it would be great for ireland if dunne did win. do you reckon if dunne did win would we see dunne against munroe then (presuming he wins tonight). you have to admire dunne for taking the fight though and upsets can happen.

Watching it on one of the repeat programmes when I get in from getting drunk!!!

Got to say I think Martinez this time around - but I have it on good authority - not all is good behind the scenes in the Martinez camp - so perhaps that swings things in favour of Munroe.

I hope Monroe doesn't go into this fight too over confident (if there is such a thing), he just needs to do what he did in the first fight and box Martinez, no need to get involved with the bigger puncher.

Munroe looks in good shape, not much sweat on him, hope he's warmed up well.

Martinez looks a lot keener tonight, round 1 suggests he took the loss of his belt badly. Both boxers cut in round one?

Good first round, Martinez comes out buzzing, looking dangerous with the left hook, think he's got a cut. Monroe kept his cool, landed a couple of body shots, and wasn't fazed by Martinez's quick start.

Munroe looking more composed in the second, seemed to hit home with a couple to the body, Martinez winced.

munroe takes the second for me.

2nd, better work by Monroe, gets on his toes and makes Martinez miss , lands some good straight punches, Martinez comes back in the final minute.

Thanjs for the RBR fellas. I pick Munroe on a points win same as last time. As for Dunne, I give him a chance against Cordoba. Apparently he is training like a trojan over in Harry Hawkins' gym in Turf Lodge and has employed a nutritionist as well as some tough sparring partners.

3rd, Martinez comes back with a better 3rd, showing good upperbody movement traps Monroe a couple of times on the ropes, then Monroe lands a few in the final minute.

Ian Darke saw the third for Martinez in a solid way, he referred to the computer punch count which I've always assumed was some kid clicking 1 or 2 on a keypad while scratching his arse.

Slightly off topic -anyone know the result of the Haywood fight?

4th, again Martinez seems to be a bit to busy for Monroe, who got stung by a couple early in the round, Monroe seems to waiting for Martinez to punch first before coming back with anything, unfortunatly Monroe isn't accurate with what he's throwing back.
