ITV4 are screening an extended tribute to Reg Gutteridge next Saturday (March 7). They ran a shorter item before the Thaxton fight last night. Should be well worth a watch.

Reg was the best, boxings Murray Walker. I liked Carpenter as well. The likes of Rawling and Darke are in their shadows.

Darke is class, he certainly shouldn't be lumped in with Rawling(Sports Network cheerleader). Darkey is the best Boxing Commentator out there now, without doubt.

I thought it was Jimmy Revie at first then McGuigan said it was Jimmy Anderson. :TU:

the piece they did on yesterday was very classy so should be good and a credit to the great man.
Totally agree.

Excellent tribute to a true voice of boxing and a absolute great commemtator who I believe, as a person, would not disappoint anyone.

I saw that clip ... It was definitely Jimmy Anderson that Reg was talking with in that dressing-room footage. I covered a lot of Anderson's fights and recognised him instantly, a tough, game crowd-pleaser whose big moment came when he knocked down Howard Winstone in the first round at Wembley in a non-title fight. Winstone rallied to outbpox Jimmy for the rest of the fight.

ITV 4 are following the Gutteridge tribute with a knockouts montage I think.

Also look out for Foreman on Foreman on the Legends Speak series on ESPN Classic.
