May I ask why the book is about the 80s, but the cover picture is from the 2000s?

I apologize, but a Book about the 80's with a picture from the 2000's = Epic Fail. All I did was type in "80's boxing photos" into google and came up with lots of photos you could have used.

I'd have to agree with you.

How seriously can you take a book when there is obviously no effort made into making the cover relevant to the content? :-?

Not to mention you could've paid an artist to do a cover as well, even a generic cover as well. Cheaply.

Getting a picture was a problem. You have copyright issues and not to mention quailty of downloads plus boxing photgraghers don't sell to people, and several years had elapsed since the 1980's ....Anyhow I have sent copies of my book to several boxing commentators and so far they firmly believe I give an excellent review of that time frame.....Give it a shot, the price is good and 1980s Boxing was a great time for boxing fans. I bring that time frame right back to life...........

1982--- SAMPLE CHAPTER----LARRY HOLMES "THE EASTON ASSASSN" VS "GENTLEMEN" GERRY COONEY.....

AS SUMMER APPROCHED BOXING FANS WERE TREATED TO MUCH ANTICIPATED AND "CLASSIC" MATCH UP. GENTLEMEN GERRY COONEY WHO STOOD SIX FOOT SIX AND WEIGHED 225 POUNDS WAS SPORTING A PERFECT 25 WINS WITH O LOSSES RECORD IN THE PROFESSIONAL RANKS. HE WAS READY FOR A TITLE SHOT. THE CURRENT WBC HWY CHAMPION LARRY HOLMES WAS STILL IN HIS PRIME BUT LITERALLY HAD RUN OUT OF TITLE CHALLENGERS. COONEY, THE" GIANT" FROM NEW YORK WAS GOING TO BE THE FIGHER THAT PROVIDED HIM WITH A VIABLE CHALLENGE FOR HIS TITLE AND WITH HIS DRAWING POWER A GOOD PAYDAY AS WELL.. THE "CLASsIC" SHOWDOWN WHICH BOXING MEDIA AND FANS COULD NOT WAIT TO SEE TOOK PLACE ON JUNE 11TH AND WAS AS "ACTION " ORIENDTED AS A HEAVYWIGHT BOXING MATCH COULD BE. WHEN THE BELL RANG COONEY CAUSTIOUSLY STALKED HOLMES WHO WANTED TO AVOID HIS "THUNDEROUS" PUNCHING POWER. HOLMES MOSTLY RETREATED USING HIS JAB AND THE THE RING, BUT IN THE SECOND RD HE LANDED A RIGHT ON COOONEY WHO WAS HIT "CLEANLY" AND HE WENT STRAIGHT TO THE CANVASS. COONEY ROSE QUICKLY AND FOUGHT WELL DESPITE THE KNOCKDOWN. HOLMES, PERHAPS ONE OF THE HEAVYWEIGHT'S DIVSIONS BEST RING TECHNICIANS BOXED COONEY THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE RDS. COONEY HAD HIS MOMENTS THOUGH AN AT TIMES WAS THE "AGGRESSOR". UNFORTUNATELY HE HIT HOLMES LOW ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS AND WAS DEDUCTED THREE POINTS FROM THE SCORECARDS. HOLMES, A SMART FIGHTER MADE IT A POINT TO BRING THE FIGHT INTO "LATE " RDS, FOR COONEY WHO HAD NEVER GONE PAST EIGHT RDS BEFORE THIS WAS "UNCHARTERED" TERRITORY. IN THE THE THIRTEENTH RD COONEY, INEXPERIENCED AND FIGHTING IN THE "SIZZLING" HEAT OF THE NEVADA DESERT AND UNDER THE HOT RING LIGHTS SIMPLE RAN OUT OF STAMINA. HE COULD NO LONGER DEFEND HIMSELF AND HE WAS JUST "TARGET" PRACTICE FOR HOLMES. ALSO HIS ONCE HANDSOME FACE WHICH ADORNED THE COVERS OF MAGAZINES AND FIGHT POSTERS CLEARY SHOWED THE EFFECTS OF THE BOUT. HIS LEFT EYE WAS "VISIBLY RED" AND BRUISED AS WAS HIS NOSE FROM ABSORBING SO MANY PUCNHES. AS A FIGHTER HE WAS COMPLETLY OUT OF RESOURCES AND HE FELL BACKWARDS INTO THE ROPES. UPON SEEING THIS HIS CORNER STOPPED THE FIGHT. DESPITE HIS "VALIANT" EFFORT COONEY'S QUEST TO WIN THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD HAD FAILED. HOLMES HAD WON AND IT WAS A TREMENDOUS VICTORY. FINALLY AFTER YRS OF DOMINATING THE HEAVYWEIGHT RANKS HOLMES GOT THE RECOGNITON HE RIGHTFULLY DESERVED FROM THE BOXING FANS AND MEDIA. CAREER- WISE IT WAS HIS BIGGEST PAYDAY AND MOST SATISFYING WIN..........HIS JUST DUE.........HOLMES WAS WITHOUT QUESTION A TRUE "LEGEND" IN THE RING.

I love how Robsteth's book about boxing in the 1980s has a picture of a fight from 2005 as it's front cover.

This is how Robsteth's very special genius works.

You people dismissing this thread would no doubt have been the same ones laughing at Christ two thousand years ago.
