Mosley targets Hatton or Pacquiao
Shane Mosley
Mosley has won titles at lightweight, welterweight and light-middleweight

Shane Mosley wants to face the winner of the upcoming fight between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao before taking a rematch with Miguel Cotto.

Mosley is weighing his options after beating Antonio Margarito to win the WBA welterweight title in January.

Britain's Hatton and Filipino Pacquiao face each other in Las Vegas on 2 May.

"The only three fights out there right now are Pacquiao, Hatton and Cotto. I'd want Pacquiao or Hatton first," said three-weight world champion Mosley, 37.

"I feel like I have about four more years of fighting left, so I don't care how long I have to wait."

Puerto Rican Cotto defeated Mosley at Madison Square Garden in November 2007 but then lost to Margarito in July 2008 in what was his first professional defeat.

Mosley stopped Margarito in the ninth round of a bout hit by controversy.

A plaster-like substance was found wrapped around Margarito's hands moments before the fight, and his boxing licence was subsequently suspended in California for at least a year.

For certain, if either of them was to accept that fight they should deffo make him come down to 140 to give some hope.

I wonder whether Mosley could make 140 now. I always favoured him to have battered Tszyu had they fought at 140, too quick and too powerful. He could have ruled that division for years, but at 37, don't think it's wise to move down for a catchweight.

Pacman and Hatton had better avoid him like the plague.

Hence them only taking the fight if it was at 140. Gives them a little bit of a chance if it hurts him to make the weight.

Mosley would BRUTALISE Hatton.

Cant see the old boy draining himself down to 10st though - it would have to be at 147 I would have thought..

Golden Boy Promotions have a curious predilection for (mis-)matching fighters from different weight classes. Why doesn't Mosley attempt to unify against the other titlists (Berto, Clottey, Cotto) in his own division?

Hatton will - don't you worry about that.

Depends on the money mate, if there's enough dollar at stake Hatton will accept.

I doubt it..

It is one thing fighting a DLH who even at his best could only fight 8 rounds and fighting a SSM that is faster - toughter and more powerful with a better chin and KO power!!!!

Hatton would say no because he would be battered like a piece of fish!

Hatton is no Willie Pep - he catches more punches with his face than most.

And it would only take 1 SSM haymaker!

JMM had Pacman all over the place.

SSM Knocks them both out!

I could understand Pacman wantng the fight at 140 but Hatton NEEDS to show he can compete at 147 and when fighting Mosley he would be fighting someone his own weight on the night.

2 tilkts against naturally smallwr men and OBF battered him.

PACMAN won't!

SSM is a proven World Class fighter - top of the pile once upon a time!

When - yes WHEN Hatton beats Pacman he should fight SSM. Hatton did not resally move UP to fight PBF - he just weighed in heavier the night before.

Check the stats - Hatton has ALWAYS been the bigger man even when fighting at Welter.

He outweighed Collazo and PBF.

Hatton Vs SSM on PPV - I would pay to watch that.

SSM KO 4 Hatton

why does hatton need to prove he can compete at welter?
Because he can not stop telling us he becomes P4P Number 1 by beating Pacman.

That is a load of rubbish.

Pacman has jumped enough divisions and so has Mosley - DLH - Hopkins - Winky - MAB - JMM - RJJ - Judah even Calzaghe (for the haters!) Hattons a one trick pony.

Even his new trainer called him that.

so hatton gets stick for fighting smaller men yet should move up to fight miosely and shane gets plaudits?

oh and for the record hatton has two fights at welter, the same calzaghe had at light heavy.

One rule for one and another for another me thinks.

shameful hypocrisy.

yup apart form i thought hopkins won but there you go.

dont understand the constant bashing the guy has fought the best he can and still gets shit for it.

I mean Zoo, Castillo, PBF , the closest contender in Magg, and now the p4p 1 in Pac and its still not enough.

fornicate me .

Personally I thought Cotto was lucky to get the decision against Mosley, Cotto should give him a rematch.

its mosley who said he wants the hatton/pacman winner first
Only after Cotto said he didn't want to go near Margarito or Mosley in the next year because he'd prefer to fight for pretend titles

Mosley started at 135, Pacquaio started at 112, Hatton started at 140. No way Hatton or Pacquaio go near Mosley, he'd murder both on the same night, which shows what bollox this P4P talk is
