I know the majority here are so passionately anti-Audley that they will never give him any credit whatsoever no matter what he does. I don't mind Audley, but i was a bit let down by his negativity v Danny Williams & Dominic Guinn.

HOWEVER, in hindsight, in view of Rogan totally dominating & smashing up a known hard b#stard like Matt Skelton, and even bludgeoning him to the floor & stopping him, surely Audleys gutsy and very close points loss to Rogan looks far less disasterous?

Skelton gave Ruslan Chagaev a good scrap for the WBA belt and proved he could hold his own with the best in the world, yet Rogan totally marmalised the fella and is now world ranked!

F#ck it i'm going to say it - give Audley some credit, you f#cks! Admit he took his whacks, showed some balls & toughness we thought he didn't have and was much better v Rogan than Skelton was.

I defiantly await your wrath.

Its a fair point mate, But its still Audleys fault he lost. He looked to have the skills to overcome Rogan, but those old stamina problems came back again.

I'd say Audley has found his level, which is just below the top 25 at heavyweight

I half agree with you Ian. Watching the fight he did appear to have the skills necessary to overcome, but Rogans class & determination must of shocked him. ALmost all of us here were expecting an easy night for him.

Audley's got no business being shocked by anyone's determination. He should have trained so hard so as not to give a shit how tough or hungry the other man is.
I didn't see the fight last week but the description is that a fat, rather than prime Matt Skelton turned up.
Also, Audley's a millionaire Olympic Gold medalist. He doesn't need to worry about driving a taxi about in order to pay bills, and, on top of size and weight and experience advantages, as a gold medalist his skills should have been on another plane.
So no, no credit due IMO.

I've been thinking along the same lines. It certainly makes Audleys close loss look alot better than it did last week. I hope he manages to secure another chance

Also Rogan is fighting better with each fight, from Dolan to Audley to Skelton.

Audley will never be validated as a fighter, an athlete maybe. He has more skills than Skelton... but he doesn't have the stamina or the ticker to make it.

Skelton took Rogan lightly for sure, was running on a high and looking for a world title shot. He's also 42 (at least) and at a dangerous age. Audley was in the last chance saloon, and he blew it.

Rogan beat Skelton.... Audley lost to Rogan. There is a difference there, but not one that validates Audley.

I said basically the same thing in a different thread, to be honest at the time I thought that Audley had fought well by his standards, but I brushed in under the carpet because I thought of course he didn’t look completely useless he was fighting a taxi driver.

Didn’t a few people at ringside think that Audley won the Rogan fight as well?

no of course not he still lost to a comparative novice audley has the skills and experiance to beat rogan if they ever fought again just audley has never had the hunger because of the millions he was paid and the gold medal he is what amir khan could slip into if hes not carefull and think he's the number 1 superstar

Audley could spoil and grab hold of anyone all night...

the bottom line is...even if he'd beaten Rogan I wouldnt have given him the decision ..pure and simple

Danny Williams is a puncher. And he knocked out Mike Tyson and fought Vitali Klitschko in Las Vegas for the world title. Beat Matt Skelton who handled himself well v Ruslan Chagaev.

Audrey has the skills to beat a lot of fighters he just doesnt have the desire the fitness and hes scared to take a punch technically hes a half decent boxer he just doesnt have the mental attributes
