The Eddie Corcoran V Denton Vassell fight is a bit weird. Both young unbeaten prospects, two weight divisions apart and supposedly fighting each other on the Khan V Barrera card...

8 X 3 Minute Rounds Welterweight Contest
DENTON VASSELL (Manchester, England) vs. EDDIE CORCORAN (Wembley, London)

If anyone can shed any more light on that one I'd appreciate it. :TU:

You have missed the only guy who has potential to be a world champ and thats Stephen Smith, the others would have to be very lucky to go further than european class, and in my opinion not one has the tools to be truly world class apart from Smith.

Kel Brook is the next BIG thing, I also reckon Darren Barker and John Murray will do very well from the game. Darren Sutherland and BJ saunders have just turned pro, but they're both destined for BIG things in the pros

The highlighted one's in red are the best at the moment tyson fury is quality and will be a big thing in about a year once hes been on ITV1 a few more times - nice chap to boot.

Cleverly was trainned by enzo calzaghe and left, think he spooked dean francis out of teh division other than fight him has the baility to go all the way but has yet to be seriusly tested other than oakey

darren barker is heading for a showdown with wayne elcock at some point, i dont see him as world championship material (ive been wrong before tho) i see him as a top european conteneder who will have a losing shot for a world title - nice chap to talk to as well very personable

Kell brook - what skill he has the only one out of the highlighted that i think will deffinatly go all the way no problem he will be a world champ at welter and im pretty sure he'll outgrow the welter divison and have to move up- jennings and mutley would be the logical step up fights and if he beats them he's effectivly cleaned out the domestic scene.

John murry - very good domestic fighter i can see him being a serious contender at european level but i think thats his limit he punches hard but a mobile fighter can win on points he also gets hit alot and hes never faced a big puncher yet until he does i think the european belt is as far as he goes

Kev will chalenge for and maybe win a version of the World Title, but I can't see him reaching true world class. Will be involved in some exciting fights though.
Vinny will become a poor mans Matthew Hatton i reckon. Kevin won't reach the same heights as Hatton of course, but I can see Vinny being a side attraction on his bigger brothers bills. Will be very surprised of Vinny makes British Champ, game lad though.

As mentioned above, Kell Brook is looking the business. He could go a very long way.

A poor mans version of Matthew Hatton.....he must be shit then and i mean very shit. I just cannot see Kell Brook living with the guys at welterweight/light-middle weight on the world scene, he is young but i still cannot see it.

I thought Gareth Couch would be in the title mix at, atleast European level by now but his career seems to have stalled from his career best win over Henry Castle whilst Castle has gone on to English title fights.

Anyone shed any light on why his career is in the doldrums?

steve smith is better than any prospect i have actually seen apart from Kell brook though there are some i haven't seen in the flesh so reserve judgement (Jamie Cox an example there)

IMO he is at least one level above Barker potential wise, so much more snap to Smith's work than i see with someone like a Barker or Costello or maybe even Jamie Cox

swifty is blowing away tough professionals like Stevey Gethin, that raised my eyebrows.

Gethin took Crolla (decent prospect for sure) 6 rounds. Crolla is bigger than Swifty. Swifty still demolished Gethin where Crolla couldn't. Akaash Bhatia took 5 rds to do gethin. Khan took 3 rds. derry mathew took 3 rds. etc etc etc

possibly i hate to say but Gethin's tough career may make him an easier option at this point than he was 3-4 years back :(

Swifty is the real deal and the future IMO can't wait to see him develop

i saw Appleby in about his 5th fight and he wasn't as polished, not nearly, as Swifty was on debut.

Denton Vassell? noweher near where swifty will end up levels wise, IMO nor is Kev Mitchell, and Vinny? :DDD

edit you beat me to it mate i totally agree :TU:

Sykes is a decent fighter, shame he doesn't have much of a punch...

Is Mark Moran on that list? I agree Murray could do well as well...

Crolla and Quigg are good shouts as well, talented lads.

Hope Crolla continues to bounce back from his setback....

Crolla does not have the tools to win a british titile, thats the harsh truth. Good fighter though.

Kell Brook is the big prospect right now, no doubt about that. Darren Barker also has a real shot at the big time

Whilst Kell looks a red hot prospect at the moment I cant help feeling that his chin can be a bit high at times and he might end up getting tagged.

Swifty Smith and Jamie Cox are the best two at the moment for me.
