it looks like we get to pick the fight of the year but what are your views on the other categories
best guest
best finish in a Setanta fight
most outrageous statement made on the show
fighter of the year
fight of the year , at the minute its hard to see past marquez v diaz. other mentions would be haye v barrett (exciting while it lasted) also the two margarito fights v cotto and mosley. holt and torres deserves mention here as well. if it went a few more rounds who knows what might have happened.
best guest - chris eubank - created the most talk afterwards with his comments on james degale.
best finish - propably the torees v holt first round job.
most outrageous statement - need more time to think about that one and to look back at some of the shows.
Finally Boxer of the Year - Alot of people might give it to calzaghe due to him retiring and been unbeaten thru the year. question mark about the quality of roy jones jnr though? in the timeframe april 24/08 until 5/04/09 david haye only had the fight against barrett so i dont know if thats enough for him to get it. if you could include the macranelli fight , haye would have a great case. carl froch only had the one big fight (memorable as it was) , again i dont know if thats enough. Ricky Hatton - again question marks about lazcano fight. excellant win against malinaggi but it was very one sided. think this category is the hardest to pick and will be the most talked about and argued about.
it does not say british boxer of the year although i imagine thats what they mean.
what are your thoughts on the categories and your opinions. sorry about the long post.
