Ahmed and Mohamed Elomar banned for six months

just seen this on the net,the Elomar boys say The sport is full of racist bastards.
BOXING brothers Ahmed and Mohamed Elomar have branded the sport's officialdom "racist bastards" after they were sensationally banned for six months yesterday.
The pair cannot fight again until September for throwing chairs during an appalling fight-night riot in Gosford last year. Both are now threatening to quit boxing altogether.
The stunning melee erupted after Ahmed had floored William Kickett in the first round of their WBO youth title bout at Central Coast Leagues Club.
His camp - including Australian super featherweight champ Mohamed - stormed the ring before the Kickett camp regrouped, sparking a furious response from the boozed-up crowd.
Chairs and bottles were thrown into the ring, and CCTV video showed the two Elomar brothers throwing them back into the stands.
The Boxing Authority of NSW viewed the violent footage at a "show-cause" hearing last Tuesday, and the six-month bans were received in writing yesterday.
Furious about having to concede his newly won WBO belt, Ahmed launched a stunning attack on boxing officials yesterday:
The sport is full of racist bastards - that's why they've banned me and Mohamed. They've always had it in for us. They hate us
"The crowd throws chairs at us and we get banned. I can't believe it.
"We did throw the chairs back, but it was self defence."
Ahmed said his detention in Lebanon as a terrorism suspect in 2007 had not been forgotten by the authority.
"It was a terrible experience that I've tried to forget, but some people want to keep putting it out there," the 26-year-old said.
"They are racist - it's because of my name and what happened in Lebanon."

I'm sick of the racist bastards talk. It is the first thing they go to every time anything happens. They were at fault, they did the wrong thing, they get banned. Plain and simple.

What happened to Ahmed in Lebanon was horrible, but what has it to do with this? They have been sentenced because of their actions. How is throwing a chair at someone self defence? I just can't see it.

Collin this was a post when you should do the shame symbol, but out of curiosity why do you good or bad always end with multiple shame symbols?
But i agree the racist card always gets pulled out when life doesn't fall in place for people with ethnic backgrounds.
Wasn't this Mohammad's second offense?

It wouldnt have mattered if it was Elomar or any other fighter in Aus. Using racism is appaling IMO. Do you think Danny Green or Daniel Geale would get away with it because there not Lebenese. He really is kidding himself.
If you dont have the disipline to be an elite proffesional sportsman then you shouldnt be in there.
Whether or not someone else threw it first is irrelavant, Elomar is a profesional sportsman and should no that he shouldnt reacted to idiots in the crowd . He has the wrong mentallity by blaming other people for his own mistake.

Australian National Boxing Federation will probably apply its Unethical Behaviour rule & withdraw his recognition

Suspension (penalty) was imposed by Boxing Authority of NSW.
ANBF Ltd (Governing body of OZ titles) has the right to impose its own penalty, regardless of any regulating body's inquiry & outcome.

^^i actually agree with that. However, i think that if he is to have a future, he will have learnt from that mistake. What is Cool Willies next move after pulling out from the recent Sydney promotion?

Green was saying last night his promotional team has taken over Willies management. They are hoping for big things from Willie and reckon the loss could be a good learning experience for him.

The WBO gave Elomar an exemption to fight for a "youth title" which is only supposed to be fought for by boxers up to 23 years old. Elomar is now 26.
I wonder if they will give a similar exemption in the future?

As long as there is some money in it for them in the way of sanctioning fees or via the brown paper bag route, of course they will if asked.

Race has nothing to do with throwing chairs... Self defence? Why not just get the hell out of there when the trouble started? lol If it wasnt for the lucky punch Kickett would have hit him harder than a chair anyway.
