was in the scottish news of the world yesterday that harrison's hearing with the BBBofC to try and get his licence back is this wednesday. someone from scottish area said if there are no more charges, then they cant stop him fighting cos it breaks european employment law.
i thought that the court case in spain was still going ahead at some point.

does anyone think he will get his licence back? does anyone know more info about this?

I think the Spanish case needs to be settled first. What is the point of him regaining his license only to get a custodial sentence. If he gets five years I think the chances of him fighting again are very slim. Its a shame there are tasty fights out there for him.

The Scottish Council have backed him to get his licence back, although the BBBoC are completly independent I wonder if a certain promoter might have some influence on the decision?

Harrison had been doing some 6 round sparring sessions with Willie Limond , preparing Limond for his recent fight.

CONTROVERSIAL former WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison could be a step closer to resuming his career after an absence from the ring of more than three years.

Harrison, who last fought in December 2005, is expected to be invited to appear before the British Boxing Board of Control at their monthly meeting in Cardiff next month.

The 31-year-old from Cambuslang had his licence suspended in December 2006 for failing to report to the Scottish Area Council of the BBBC for a compulsory weight check prior to his world title bout against Nicky Cook being called off.

Although he was subsequently cleared by a BBBC tribunal last year, Harrison's boxing ring ban remains, and the Scot has not so far made a formal application to have his licence reinstated, according to general secretary Robert Smith.

advertisementMr Smith also confirmed that legal documents requested from Harrison's solicitor in January were placed before the board at their meeting on Wednesday and they may ask him to appear in person.

The board is understood to want to discuss Harrison's court cases, which have already been dealt with, even though he has full Scottish Area Council backing.

mate i seen brodie train when he was in his prime an he was playing at the game this time he nose what he wants he told me he wants cook an i think he cant beat him he is 10 stone this morning an is going to get his lincence back on sunday trust me he wants to do it this time ............................

I really hope he gets his licence back, but it will be a sad sight if he comes back a shadow of his former self, which is a big possibilty.
