I'm getting this in before he beats MAB, not that such a win elevates him to P4P status but he will within 3years as he improves and gets the right fights at the right time. Just watched the Fagan fight and although it was short he's looking allot more professional, technically more sound and a better puncher. Khan's shown a load of teething problems but he looks willing to learn and he has some of the best physical attributes in the sport.

Kahn just isn't the sort of fighter who will jab and run all night, and for that to happen I think he has the wrong trainer in roach.

I think Barrera will stop him

I do like Kahn though, and I think he has real bollocks getting in the ring with Barrera so soon after getting flattened by Prescott.

If he loses this as I think he will, it's a long way back IMO

There's way too much talent in the lightweight division for Amir to prosper. Fast hands cannot compensate for poor technique, porous defence and Pele Reid's chin on loan.

I can't see Khan beating anyone good enough to get him to the top of the ladder. Watching Marquez vs Diaz showed how much better than Khan they are.

i mean hatton even said that khan on PPV is too soon ofr him .he should have waited before go on PPV. he will have to fight the top ten figthers like Diazs ,marquez etc...he will get ko'd the crap out of if he ever steps in the ring with Marquez .thats one fight i would pay PPV for .to see khan get sparked out .AGAIN !

if khan ever fights Diaz or marquez then he can say goobye to his boxing career. he will get sparked out. if his china chin can cope with marquez or diazs punches.

Khan dazzles with his hand and foot speed, but he has one of the worst chins in the business (from what we've seen so far).

Name a top 10 P4Per (ever) who had a chin like Khan's.

I hope we do not get any I told you so's if he beats MAB on sat. Barrera is old and never fought at this weight and always had problems with guys like Khan. Junior Jones was probably about the same as Khan, chin and all but owned Barrera.

Lightweight is the best of the divisions even if he wins this can he beat

no way .it would be a bloody masccare if he ever steps into the ring with any the Best Lw in the world.

Hey you lot don't argue, I'm allowing you to see the future through my crystal ball. His chin has looked bad, but with a tighter defense and more selective punching he won't be hit as flush and as he matures his chin will get better with his man strength - basically his legs and neck developing to support his chin, going up in weight will help his chin no end too. Plus the harder sparring at roach's gym will help too

Lets look at who he can fight:

Barrera - 35 - slowing, low workrate, smaller, weaker,
Marquez - 36 - hardest fight, but Khan's faster, busier, bigger/rangier and JMM doesn't do well with box and move types - John/Norwood
Casamayor - 36/37 - faded, largely done
Campbell - 36 - ko'd in his prime, now old and fading
Katsidis - wide punching
Julio Diaz - can punch a bit, nothing special
Juan Diaz - I like him, but his power isn't that dangerous and Khan has better boxing skills

Then in 3-4years time he can pounce on fading versions of Hatton/Pacquaio who by then will be slow relatively slow, immobile and easier to hit than they are now.

Khan is already 1 of the best athletes in the sport, speed and stamina most fighters would kill for. If his technique can be refined he'll be 1 of the best. He doesn't need to be the creme of the creme because hes going to be protected anyway and he'll get the fights on his terms

Time is on Khan's side, hes the future of British boxing and I'm getting in on the bandwagon when his stocks at its lowest, anywhere I can put a bet on him being a world champ or 2weight champ?
