As the story goes Steve Barnes dad used to take him to parks in sheffield and pay older lads to fight him. Dunno how true that is though. He is boxing pro in Ireland as he is still too young to box pro in England. Quite a few posters on here speak highly of his ability.

I know Jim Rock is first on the card because he is going to do the TV work for RTE after that. Furlan is no joke and left Macklins face in a bit of a mess after their fight so I hope Jim's face will be "ok" for TV.
Anyway Barnes will probably be on after that so I should get to see him.

Furlan is very tough, Duddy stopped him with 10 seconds left of the fight. Shame Lee isn't fighting him but Rock will be a good scrap. I'd say Rock is doing the radio with Dowling and possibly Duddy or Mc Closkey in the studio.

Looking forward to it, flying to Belfast on Friday and traveling down south on Saturday, personally I think Dunne will get a lesson.

Steve Barnes is on the bill now? How bloody big is this bill going to be?! I hear Anthony Fitzgerald is on as well.
Keep an eye on

and Michael Kelly - I am looking forward to seeing him. There is a poster from Dundalk on eastside that rates him so it will be good to get a peek at him.

My first incursion into the world of boxing journalism.
http://www.onthegrindboxing.com/2009/03 ... oxing-p4p/ what do ya think?
You might know that i have been doing the wikipedia entries for all the Irish boxers for the past three years but I've got a bit bored of wikipedia because it is pretty resrictive. Do you think that britishboxing would let me do something like this on a regular monthly basis? I know you do an Irish round up there so I thought i would ask you first.
regards

You should e-mail Mr. McNeilly and ask him mate, see what he says. I have been trying to keep things ticking over with previews, roundups and articles for both north and south so you should drop them an e-mail with your idea.

Good Luck.

Very good Sligo, good read and have linked it about a bit.
Good luck with BBN.
Steve I will email some detail about a possible Newspaper oppurtunity here in Belfast, nothing too might but might help you out a bit.
Kelly is a decent boxer and should put on a good show. The Pink Panther is in great shape and although it will be a tough fight I think he will finish it within the distance.
Everyone was complaining about small bills, now Peters has a big bill others are complaining, can't win
