I can still remember the look of anger on Harry Mullan's face when Barry Hugman's Yearbook in 1989 published a picture of James Oyebola on the floor, in distress. As Harry said (a real boxing writer, a real boxing man), you shouldn't show fighters on the floor in distress.

Agreed. The Boxing News were fckers fot it with that "shot of the week" photo. Regularly showing prone, motionless fighters on the deck. They got told off on the letters page and stopped after that. Unreal for a through and through Boxing mag.
Lately they've revelled a lot in a picture of a concussed Amir Khan on the tear-off subscription slip.
Next week they'll be trading off his image saying he's top of the world if he wins. Total Hypocrites.

this is because of a spat between claude and FW that has been brewing for years. just BN's way of letting FW know who is boss.

I'm surprised at that but it does offer an explanation. If they kept showing a relative of mine week in week out knocked sparko I'd be fuming.
It's bugged me for a bit this has so any light you can shed , (without getting in trouble obviously, please tell)....likewise I was pretty disgusted that Frochy didn't get the full cover when he beat Pascal.....instead they has Pacman De La Hoya (in fact quite possibly just a bashed up Dela Hoya shot and some daft headline like time to retire..) Oh, in a fight most people could have predicted the result of anyway
Froch on the other hand after his heroics (not to mention a new Brit World Champ in a British publication) got a postage stamp sized picture on the front cover, along with an exact same sized one of the guy they'd been taking the piss out of, showing sparko on the deck for weeks...Amir Khan. Stupid stuff!
