Danny Green 25 (22) - 3 (0) - 0 Anthony van Niekerk 21 (13) - 6 (4) - 2
I think Danny will need better competition in the future, to rid his ring rust, i understand.
Something about Danny that makes me cheer every time he fights.
I'm Glad he's fighting, i just hope it's at his best.

this is his record

i think Danny could make short work of him if he isn't looking for the rounds.

Did you see the result for Van Niekirk's fight against Osmar Teixeira? Van Niekirk was knocked down in the second round and had a point deducted for holding but still won because Teixeira retired in the third round.
Strange things happen in boxing rings.

I really hope that after this fight, presuming it goes well for Green, that he goes in pursuit of a world title.
I really don't want Green to come back and just fight for ring time for the the Mundine rematch.
Zolt Erdei, Garay or any other top 10 would be good.

i hope he goes after a title or a legitimate top 10 fighter as well
but i really think that he is only after money mundine, i would actually go as far to say that theres much more chance of mundine fighting abraham or pavlik, then green going anywhere near a legitimate top 10 light heavy. green will just pick on blown up middleweights until the mundine fight happens

It will be interesting to see if Greeny eyes off any other top fights, such as a title, should Choc make him wait longer than anticipated. It was interesting to hear Greens comments last night at the Cube. Whilst he raised the issue of Mundine and his desire to fight him, he pushed the point that he missed the sport and the adrenalin rush the most. All going well I think the WBA would give Green a title shot reasonably soon. The other issue was weight. Barry Michael continued to ask whether Green felt confident of getting Choc at Light Heavy. Surely this is a no brainer. It happens at Light Heavy or at nothing! Maybe we will have to wait a little while longer than expected to see the rematch. Or maybe Geale will defeat Mundine and the rematch will happen very soon.....either way it is great to have the Green Machine back in the ring.

It has to be LHW. Green said that he could never make SMW again. Then again he also said he would retire.

Yeah green felt uncomfortable explaining why he went back on his word.
At super middle Green looks too gaunt, there's rumor of catch weight.

The fight with Choc will happen and there is no way Green will go anything below light heavy. The point I was trying to make was Green seem to leave the door open as far as exploring other big fights such as a title if for some very slim reason the Mundine fight didnt come off. He kept on bringing up the fact he missed the sport more than the initial banter about it all being about Mundine. Be interesting to see what path he takes if Mundine makes him wait longer than he wants....would he chase Garay or another title holder ??

No,
Green wont be intending to fight anyone else.He wants time to get fit and ready so he can slowly beat up this potential fight to lure mundine.Mundine should do the right thing and ignore him ,fight Geale then look to Germany or U.S..
THAT SHOULD BE HIS INTENTION.
but he wouldnt get past Geale in my eyes.

Good comeback fight for Greeny. The guy seems durable and should ring condition him without threatening at all.

I thought it was interesting that on Friday night the commentators said they were sure that Green - Mundine two
and three would in fact happen...
I might put my house on Green in two and then both houses on Mundine in three

It seems like Mundine and Green will be a while, and i'm kind of glad, i really want to see Danny and Mundine test themselves in their final years.
Then they can fight 2 and 3, should Danny win 2.
On another note, Green's card is PPV,never thought i would say this, hope the undercard is good(matchups i mean)

They may never fight again. One has gone up in weight and the other has gone down. A lot of fighters have lost fights at one weight and done better when they have gone up in weight.
Green is a natural light heavyweight. He was a light heavyweight as an amateur. Why should he start starving himself again?
