Looks fornicating dreadful - terrible physics, atrocious modelling, and wooden looking motion capture.

I don't know quite how they do it, but each version seems worse than the one before it.

Am absolutely wetting myself in anticipation!

James, did you not think Fight Night Round 3 was quality?

Love the fact there will be all the inside fighting and boxers physiques will matter tactically!

Also, Emerson, have you seen the clip for UFC 2009? Looks to have potential!

Watched the original footage which looked exceptional, but the graphics have dipped a little in the latest one I saw. Provided they get the controls right, I'll buy it.

Aye along with Fight Night you've got a competitive night in with the lads..!

SG, Tyson is for sure. Also there are rumours about Marciano, Calzaghe, Lewis being on it - other than that am stoked.

My favourite one was Knockout kings 2001, it was the one which was the most frenetic pace. The fighters seem so slow in the newer games.

So that's 24 confirmed, and EA say there is over 40 :D

James, i always found Knockout Kings a bit of a button basher. Fight Night is a bit slow but i find there is alot of skill in countering your oppenent.

Saying that, i've seen another clip of Fight Night 4 which goes into the aspects of the game in detail, and the speed of the punches and movement seems a fair bit quicker and more fluent!

It was, but then boxing is a lot more intuitive than tactical. I thought it was one of the games wherre buttons bashing was what made it so much fun.

I also find that having to use the analog joystick to punch is annoying and you end up with sore thumbs.

It was much easier to put together really nice combinations in ko kings, much more fluid, and the movement was so much better.

The slothful pace of fight night makes it very boring for me.

FN3 lacked options. I hated the fact they reverted to a set career path. I like to have more flexibility over where my fighter can go and when (I'm sure FN2 was a bit more like that).

As for gameplay, I got tired quickly from the fact you could just parry your opponents shots all day long and counter with a firm hook to the head.

I'm still praying that one day they get it spot on.

I would also absolutely love it if Sports Interactive (makers of Football Manager) made a Boxing Manager game. With proper realistic detail etc...

It does seem strange that the graphics are such high quality but the movement is so unrealistic. I wonder if that is an early trailer before they had matched up the models with the motion capture data. It doesn't look like that or any physics/gravity stuff has been incorporated.

Crickey what do you want, jam on it?

Its a game. If you want real life, nip down the local ABA Gym and stick the gloves on.

Can't we have both? I stick the gloves on 3 times a week but i'd love a boxing video game where the fighters move like humans.

Shirow, i've seen earlier footage where the models looked piss poor graphically, but the movement of the boxers looked spot on.

This video shows that realistic motion capture movement is possible but i can't find anything showing a fight like this.

It would be great if they could have that kind of realism

I have the old PS2 game Fight night 2004, with Roy Jones Jr on the cover

Got to the stage where i can beat heavyweights as a featherweight :box:

I like the game, but if i play it weight for weight, i murder them, so i get bored easily. The movement is good and when they go down its fairly realistic, but one masive flaw is that you can't knock out an opponent with one punch or even put him down with one punch. It is all decided by the strength meter, which is pretty crap, I can remember in knock out kings, you could knock someone out with one punch and it was great. It did'nt happen all the time, but when it did it looked spectacular. I can remember knocking out Larry holmes, i was Ernie Shavers, with two punches

Shirov, i googled around for Fight Night 4 footage and got a detailed video. Some guy gave a tutorial as you watched the new aspects of the gameplay. It looked really good. I would give you the link but i can't remember where i saw it - didn't think i'd be looking at it again!

That little clip of the movement of the boxers looks spot on!
