ive just been looking at the domestic rankings of our lightweights and boxrec has alex arthur number 1, this is based on what exactly? as i dont think hes even had a meaningfull fight at that weight. i still think Jon thaxton should still be reguarded as the best lighweight in brittain but i think murry will beat him but untill they fight thaxon should still be reguarded as the best

1 - Alex Arthur
2 - John Murry
3 - Jon Thaxton
4 - Amir Khan
5 - Henry Castle

Boxrec's rankings are not good when it comes to fighters changing division. Just look at LWW, Pacman is 1st despite never fighting at that weight.

At the moment it's Thaxton coz he did manage to get the european title at one stage

Im going with John Murry, followed by AA, think Khan has got the best boxing skill but i dont think he'd be able to take a good shot off any of these...

I voted John Murray who I think beats the rest. I think Khan would beat Thaxton who is too wild with his big shots, and I would place him 2nd. I would have AA 3rd, Thaxton 4th and Castle last. Even if Khan got lucky tonight, stoppage by cut, a flurry of pitter patter punches or points, I still say Murray would beat him by stoppage.

Arthur looked dead at the super feather against Cook. He's a decent fighter who will prosper with moving up in weight I feel. Although, at the moment I would put him 3rd on that list, with Khan 1st and Murray 2nd.

In my opinion its Murray i think he will be a world champion would love 2 see him fight Diaz after he goes through the European ranks
Thaxton 2nd lots of good wins a steadily decent fighter
Khan 3rd but if he wins tonight he leapfrogs both of them but i think both of the above would beat Khan. Warren was right to skip him through the British and put him in the world scene

exactly but like mentioned above the rating system is flawed

was tempted to vote Khan but I like most of Hennessy's fighters and Murray's impressed me in his last two fights.

In that case it's Khan or Thaxton.

Murray's best win is over Meager, who had previously been knocked out by Thaxton. You can't compare that to Thaxton's Euro title win or Khan beating Barrera, Kristjansen, Gomez, Earl and St Clair.

It's Khan followed by Murray, then Thaxton.

Even before this weekend that's how I saw it.

Have a look at the other topic "worst predicition" I think a few of us would put that they favoured Murray to beat Khan only for Khan to completely bamboozal him, Murray is simply too slow and marks up too easy to last 12 rounds and land the telling punches to stop him.

Murray is a deceptive fighter who finds his range and slows ppl down. See the McAllister fight, a very quick, awkward opponent. It wasn't a fast performance but he wore the kid down systematically, showed smartness to bring his gloves down, and scored a fine stoppage. If someone is faster than you, slow 'em down.

Murray marks up easily, Khan goes down easily (strange, for someone so fast who can avoid all those shots, why does he get tagged so much by hurtful shots).

McAllister's speed is hardly average.
