if i was juan manuel marquez

i would be watching tommorrow nights action in manchester very very closely.
not because the 2 men fighting (khan / barrera) will cause him to lose sleep , but there is a possible massive payday for boxings numero dos pound for pound man.
now if amir does win (the only way i see him winning is that barrera is totally and utterly shot) i think marquez should be banging his drum to come to the uk to fight amir.
why???..the almighty $ , think about it , marquez comes to the uk to avenge mexican hounour and to defend his wbo-wba crown against a guy who in the uk is massive and will generate lots of $$$ or ££££.
again if marquez is smart he will defend his title vs khan , khan would be no1 contender so that could make the fight easier to make , it would be ppv in the uk and im sure hbo would also take this fight.
so as i see it marquez could easy make $2m for a very easy defence of his titles , khan has no chin , marquez has , marquez also has a punch...easy money my man
marquez in the words of del boy - you know it makes sense
ps: it wont happen though as i feel barrera will ko khan as he only needs to land 1 clean shot

mate its an opinion
barrera is the better fighter but has age caught up with him??....ive seen barreras 2 comeback fights and he still looks fast and accurate that why i think he will win as if he has any power and speed left he wins
his 2 wins though were against the sort of guys khan has been fighting , thats why khan gets no respect , khan has fought 1 genuine lightweight and lasted 30secs
khans chin is the worst ive ever seen
vs marquez , prescott , diaz etc khan doesnt see round 6
its funny how the camp are looking at a vacant title if khan wins , why arent they shouting for marquez to fight khan????
marquez is the man at lightweight
ive always said - the only way khan wins a world title is that he is manufactured to fight for a vacant title

so khan only earns your respect if he beats JMM who is arguably the best P4P boxer on the planet?
hmm, good logic

no in over 4 years he hasnt even fought the best lightweights in the uk - fact
i would like him to fight and beat the best in the uk and in europe before fighting the likes of prescott , marquez , diaz etc

khan made is debut in july 2005 and hes still aint fought the best in the uk going into his 5th calender year as a pro
for a guys who says hes ready for the world - i think its disgusting
he knows , warren knows his chin will let him down against thaxton , romanov , murray etc
amir should have fought for the british title in his 2nd year

May I ask if you were so incensed when Pavlik fought Lockett or Cotto fought Jennings? Because, you know, both of those blokes are UK fighters who hadn't done enough to "deserve" big shots against highly touted foes, & neither of them cleaned out their divisions domestically. They were even promoted by Sports Network & had a history of feasting on smaller/shot/outclassed foes. So the difference here is... What exactly?
Anyway, not trying to imply anything, I'm sure you & teddy & loads of others who've been giving it the big one this last week were also giving it the big one for Kelly & Miguel Angel those nights, & calling the UK boys frauds & hoping to see them knocked out.

thaxton was offered the fight for £125k didnt take it, and has been beat twice since, so what is the point he aint going to earn any respect for beating him now
Murray has only been in the mix 12 months, and i wouldnt have minded him fighting him, however id rather see him fight barrera
romanov is top 4 in the world so why you bringing him into it if you dont want him to box world rated lads
July 05 in my book is 3 years 7 months

jennings and lockett are decent fighters and have beaten better men than amir
i wanted them to win as they are british but amir is a fraud just like audley , thats why i want barrera to win
barrera even got the better reception at the weigh-in ....fact

I wanted Lockett to be smashed and he was only because he has a genuine dislike for boxing but I wanted Jennings to do well as I have trained at the Collyhurst gym and he is a sound lad.

Why does Khan get these chances? Well I'll tell you as it's quite easy, boxing is a sport, sport is a business, business is about money and that is why Khan is taking the fights he is. As Buncey said yesterday the big fights get made when they make sense both timing wise and money wise, why fight John Murray for thousands when you can make millions fighting Barrera.
It's that easy and anyone that doesn't understand that needs their fecking head testing, why did Floyd Mayweather fight an old inactive DLH when two live opponents in Cotto and Margarito were available? Easy, he got more for beating Oscar than he would have got for fighting both Cotto and Margarito. Frustrating I know, but that's life.

Do you honestly believe Kahn would beat a Barrera who wasn't shot though?
I have to say if Kahn wins it's because Barrera has too little left in the tank. I don't think thats being disrectful. Kahn has struggled against domestic level fighters, and been blown away by a unknown. Nothing disrespectful in stating that Kahn on current form hasn't shown he can beat a world class fighter. Warren is counting on Barrera being shot, thats obvious.
Respect Kahn for taking the risk and fighting Barrera regardless of the result, but if he wins that doesn't show he's world class. If he beats a world class opponent who seems to be close to his prime, fair play to him.

nothing like the guys khan has fought.
barreras last 2: Freudis Rojas 1-7-1 Sammy Ventura 25-19-0
khans former foes:
Gairy St. Clair....... former ibf super feather champ
graham earl...... beat romanov and had katsidis on the deck
oisin fagan....... got an unlucky descision against unbeaten champ
at the time.(spadafadadorafora)
im in no way saying khan has beaten anyone near barreras class but to say that khan has only fought against guys like that is drastic and wrong.

Well he didn't look shot against Marquez, hard to tell against Paq cause he looked like he was in survival mode.
Personally I don't think Kahn could beat the Barrera who Marquez who even then was clearly past his best.
For me Barrera woiuld have to look sharp in this fight to be convinced he's not shot. Then if Kahn can win I'll take notice and hope Kahn then fights a legitimate lightweight. In fact for me he has to fight Presscott.
IMO I think Barrera has enough left to stop Kahn
But it's hard to know as he hasn't fought anyone near the top fifty since he lost to Paq
Cheers

Marquez would beat both and beat Barrera at super feather.

just read your original post, didn't read others aint got time.
Now i see what your saying but if manny comes through his fight dont you think that fight would make more?
As for the ease of marquez victory i agree there's no way khan would beat mar so i think the boxing fans would say the same as you that mar is only here for money. Tbh i think mab may beat khan btw are ya paying for it? how much is it?

£14.63 for the khan fight
im working so im going to listen on teh radio and get a round by round done on here
oh yeah marquez will much more is pacman wins , but making $2m for a few rounds work must be tempting for marquez.
khan is only one of thr lightweights who could generate this money for marquez because of the hype and the silver medal
