Khan/WBO

I know there's a few threads about this, but what's the harm in starting a new one?

It looks like Khan will get a WBO title shot of he beats Barrera (I think he will stop him just for the record), but surely fighting Marquez would be suicidal? Or do you folk think Khan's twat of a promotor is hoping that Marquez gives up his title to go in search of big fights, like the Hatton/Pacquiao winner? I do, because I can't see Frank sticking Khan anywhere near Marquez with that chin. Yes, Juan Manuel is about 35, but he's showing his best form, knocking out both Casamayor and Diaz.

I think we will never see Khan/Marquez, and I think Frank is hoping that Marquez relinquishes.

:shame:

June 2009 - vacant WBO title, Amir Khan vs Alex Arthur - mark my words.

Decent fight, but not world title material.

I think Khan will win tonight, and get himself a shot of the WBO title held by Marquez. I might be being a little bit cynical here, but I feel that Frank thinks that Marquez will move up, or at the very least, not be willing to lose purse bids and come over here to defend against Khan for very little money - I believe this to be the case even more as Marquez also holds the WBA belt. At this stage of his career he won't be looking for defences, he will be looking for big names and big money - the Pacquiao/Hatton winner being the most obvious. Furthermore, Frank will push for Khan to get a shot for the WBO title in his next fight, providing he wins tonight, but surely Marquez won't be up to travelling over here for little money to face Khan? I really wouldn't be surprised to see Arthur knock out some bum on the Burns/Gomez card and be put in with Khan for the WBO vacant title in a few months. This just smacks of old Franky's style too much.

as i have always said....khan only wins a world title by fighting for it when it is vacant

if it is vacant it should be khan vs prescott 2

ko 1 all over again
