well done paul royston.the loved up rotherham journeyman earned himself a well deserved points win over scottish stylist willie bilan up in aberdean.handsome journeyman and class operator daniel thorpe had to accept a 58-57 points defeat to eddie boyle whilst the aberdeen assassin was a clear points winner over a tough awkward frenchman

Thats fantastic,but that thorpy with all the money he must be getting(he is out every week) needs to buy himself a mirror

Sounds like a decent show- some well matched fights.
Last night I enjoyed Bell V Al Hamedi, that was a close and active fight.
ITV4 showed an exciting undercard bout, too.

well done to royston nice guy, that bilan once was a very good amateur too if i remember he was matched and weighed in to fight amir at bolton town hall but came in a couple of kgs overweight so the bout never materialised just before he went to the olympics i think a few years ago.

think i boxed that big jon parks from somewhere like gilmerton, had a war from the first bell thought it was only 3 rounds till i seen him sat on his stool at end of 3rd round realised had 1 more round left as he was an open class fighter, desi higginson boxed stuart green too i think was a few good fights.

Lee McAllister back to winning ways tonight at his spiritual home, the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen, under the expert guidance of Dave Coldwell. (Just kissing your ass Dave for spoiling the Khan result for you!)
The Aberdeen Assassin won 79 - 73 against a strong opponent, French Coupe de la Ligue champion, Abdoulaye Soukoula.
A strong undercard saw former Scottish amateur champion, Eddie Doyle go to 2 - 0 against the vastly experienced Daniel Thorpe. Ref Andrew Wright saw it 58 - 57, and to be honest, most at ringside agreed that it could have easily gone either way.
Another former Scottish amateur champion, Willie Bilan was insensed when referee Wright awarded the win to another Coldwell boxer, Paul Royston by 58 - 57. Although Royston went in with only 3 wins from 33 contests, it must be noted that he has never been stopped and 2 of his previous 3 wins were by KO.
The other contest saw former Commonwealth bronze medalist Andrew Young stop Lee Mountford at 1:44 of the second round, having just dropped him for an eight count. Young goes to 2 - 1, both his wins inside the distance. His defeat was a shock first round stoppage on his debut.
For a small provincial show, the atmosphere that McAllister generates at the Beach Ballroom is incredible and rivals any venue in the country, you really have to experience it to believe it.

I got that story straight from the horse's mouth. Andy Caulfield, the coach that was with Bilan told me, they drove all the way to Bolton, 4 or 5 hours, Bilan weighed in with the officials, within the weight, then went to eat as he hadn't eaten since early morning. The Khan team turned up minutes before the scales closed and insisted that they see Bilan on the scales. Caulfield, quite rightly, told them to fornicate off, that Bilan had been checked and verified by an ABA Official and they refused to take the fight. In most of his amateur bouts in Scotland after that (he normally topped the bill) he was introduced as "the man that Amir Khan refused to face!"

Mick Jelley was a bit soft with Amir in matching him
Amir was originally down to fight one of the lads in the Lightweight Prizefighter from scotland, i forget his name, but he pulled out after Khan battered the German world number 3 in his first senior international
re Bilan, the fight was made at 62kg, and i think Jelley was willing to give weight up to 64KG but they wouldnt step back on the scales, i reckon he was proberly 66/67kg so they didnt want too look like they were ripping him off
