Recently quite a few of our boxers have taken a beating.

What next for:

Steven Bendall?
Matt Skelton?
Jon Thaxton?
Wayne Elcock?
Nicky Cook?
Bradley Pryce?
Enzo Maccarinelli?

Most probably would like to fight on- but will there be another chance?

They need to stick Enzo in with someone decent enough, but British level at best. This idea of bouncing back for the world title after getting sparked by Haye was clearly a mistake.

Steven Bendall? High-end journeyman/gatekeeper
Matt Skelton? Hard to say at his age. Should call it, but is still competitive. Perhaps a Williams rubber match for the British? Forget about world title shots, though.
Jon Thaxton? I suspect that was his final serious push. I could see him fighting on but losing a wide decision to a prospect in the next year.
Wayne Elcock? Retire. That is going to be very hard to come back from, and he never struck me as having great hunger for the sport.
Nicky Cook? Can still figure on the Euro/Commonwealth scene. A match with Johanneson would be good.
Bradley Pryce? Gutted for him; he just needed a bit of momentum and I feel he would have knocked on the door of world class. He's come back from defeats well before, but never a bad/early KO like this. He might revert to the high-end gatekeeper that he was around the mid-00s.
Enzo Maccarinelli? This is a tough one. Looks done at world level, but it will be hard for him to step down a level. Rule out heavyweight if cruisers can KO him. Too young to retire. Who knows?

Enzo needs four fights before the end of the year.

Why not go for the British title first, it isn't like he's demonstrated much beyond that level, who is champion Norton?

But to me, he really needs better sparring and he wont find that here. Seems a glib off hand uninformed response but who does he spar with in Wales.....Cleverly? Nope he's left anyway I recall.

Enzo mac might move to UFC has he had mensioned it before. i guess cook and get a european title or somthing after a few more fights. thats if he wins all the fights.

Agreed on all those points

I just want to make a case for Bradley.
He is too young to be cast aside.
Mcdonagh faces Webb in a final eliminator for the British Title.
Even given the setback against Hall, does no one think he would stand a chance against either of these ?
He's already beaten Small.
Why couldn't he have a go at domestic level ?

Also just heard Bradley is considering moving up the weights and wants to be in the ring in 8 weeks.
Glad to hear he's still got hunger - but very surprised re the weight.

Me too. He started out at lightweight, after all. I know most people naturally gain weight as they age, but I think going up to middle or beyond is too far for him. He's had the most success at light-middle but I'd argue he was the best at light-welter/welter, if only he'd had the discipline.

I agree he always looks as if he can still make welterweight. Frame-wise he looks small for a light-middle and I always got the impression he just stayed at light-middle for so long because he had the commonwealth belt and opportunities arose with that.

yes i agree, he looks soft at light middle, but he has come back before, i saw him on the receiving end of a last second ko from ted bami i think at cardiff castle. he bounced back well. but as for moving up weights...dont be fo effin stupid bradley, you are not james toney.

Or possibly McDermott V Smith. Smith has an international title though, so perhaps not really going to be fighting for the English.

There'd be no shame in Enzo dropping down to Commonwealth/Euro level for his next couple of fights, before having another crack. He just needs to take stock and decide how to progress. If he moves to MMA, good luck to him I suppose.
