OK, the Moore vs Foster thread got me going, so here's a more updated version of the light heavyweight argument.
Roy Jones Jr vs Michael Moorer. Jones was untouchable at light heavyweight (pre John Ruiz title fight). Michael Moorer won every light heavy match he had AND he won them by KO. Moorer was also no slouch in the speed department at light heavy.
It appears that their prime are only separated by 6-7 years, the fight could of happened. Too bad Moorer never got the publicity buildup he should have and probably never considered for any all time great status as Jones surely has and will continue to get.
My pick, Moorer...

I like Moorer here, as style-wise he presents tremondous problems for Roy. Fast, incredible power, and a southpaw. At the same time, it's practically impossible to rate how good Moorer really was at 175 as his level of comp at that weight was lacking to put it kindly.

People forget how very good Moorer was at light-heavy. He was reasonably quick, too. I think he'd catch Jones eventually, and one punch would do the trick.

Moorer was positively a beast at LHW, but Dempsey is right-on when he says the competition was poor, for the most part. Still, he did it just the way you'd expect a fighter of his calibre to --- with textbook proficiency.
This is a shaky contest. Jones' biggest career achievements were at this weight, but he actually peaked, IMO, at Super-Middle, as I witnessed him lose some pop (& some of his daring) in the move to 175. Moorer's peak weight was, in fact, 175, but most of his career lies in the Heavyweight division.
Essentially, it's Jones' experience & speed against Moorer's power & enthusiasm. It's a near-swing call for mine, & I can see legitimate cases for either man, but I suspect Moorer catches him & ends it, somewhere in the mid-rounds. No way can Jones' chin stand up to what Moorer can dish out, it's only a question of whether Moorer can land. Shaky, &, as I say, there's a near-even chance Jones outpoints him --- but Moorer had the power to end it, & I believe he would.

Jones via wide decision, much more proven at the weight.
