I think Dunne will get the licking of his life and stopped mid to late, the guy isn't really good enough to cut it at European level never mind World, Cordoba has a win against the man who smashed Molitor to bits last year, it doesn't bode well for him.

This will be Dunnes - 'prescott' unfortunately.

Didn't Dunne already have a "prescott" in the form of Martinez? I think he can do it!

Here's something on Andy Murray:

I really dont fancy Dunne.

Already mentioned how Martinez destroyed him and the talk from the Cordoba camp is very good and he's beaten guys like Celestino Caballero and Luis Alberto Perez.

Brian Peters is just making a big show, Dunne doesnt deserve a world title chance in my opinion but I see him being sparked out here.

I think Cordoba will win i want 2 see Dunne win 2 set up a rematch with Munroe in a title shot which i think Munroe would win again

Dunne is box office, pure and simple...Munroe has missed the boat...if Dunne wins he wont be bothered about accomodating Munroe..if Dunne loses he is not half as big a name as he was pre Cordoba!!!

Also, if Dunne loses in a thriller then he is still above Munroe!! :box:

Rematch, Dunne and Munroe have never fought and the only British fighters Dunne has fought is: Pickering and Hughes

Pickering, Hughes, Wilders, and Betts actually and he thrashed them all! Bring on the next!
The fact that Dunne is willing to step up and Munroe is only prepared to fight Dunne if he wins this fight (no mention of him wanting Cordoba), tells me all I need to know about both boxers.
Looks like Maloney knows his fighters limitations.

No i know how to look after a fighters career and earn him as much money as he can. When the time is right Rendall will be move into a world title fight and not before

I believe Dunne has to chances in this fight slim and none and slim has just left the bar. Tell me it was a great move on saturday night after you see your man get his butt kicked. Rendall and myself will be at ringside to watch before i make up my mind on his next move with the rest of his team.

Yeah and that move for Munroe will be, try for the Dunne fight if he wins, back to fighting nobodies if Cordoba wins. Win or lose Dunne is showing guts and conviction in regards to his career, unlike some people.
Easy to throw around insults about Dunne getting his "butt kicked" sitting ringside afraid to put your boy in the mix.

What happens if Rendall is never really ready for a title shot(as in never in a position where he'll be good enough to win), afterall Super-Bantamweight is probably the toughest division in boxing right now and if it stays the way it is now then he'll never be good enough.
No offence to Rendall who does seem a good lad and a good European champion.

Not really but boxing is like any other job is about earning the most money that why boxers box. In todays markets a fight needs a title to earn money. So if you are the best in your div. at british, europe or world is the managers and promoters job to earn his boxer the best money out there for the title he holds, So why paid the champion all of the money and have to sign away some of yours fighters wages. As long as Rendall keeps winning he will fight for a world title soon but when he does, he will be in a good place to get the best deal out there for him. And just a note to all you armchair managers if you were that good at handling fighters careers why not take up the job full time and stop playing at it.O but that way Frank W , Mick H, and myself are doing what we do and you lot are putting up post here and jerking of at the same time, Sorry chaps do not mean to upset you all but now and than some one has to tell you how it is in the real world.

Well we are primarily boxing fans Frank. We pay for the boxers where as you make money from the boxers - there is no problem in that per se - but it gives us, in my opinion, a neutral and therefore more objective view.

I don't support boxers to see them earn money, I support them to see them be the best that they can be, to beat the best that they can beat and to win titles.

If I see boxers cycnically threading water I tend to stop supporting them. Therefore promoters have to find that fine balance before they actually start loosing fighters money.

You do your job (making money) and we will do our job (wanting to see the best fighters fight each other!)

slan leat a chara.

Yes it's no doubt a hard task for Dunne, but Brian Peters deserves huge credit for getting his man the Big Chance on homeground, and at the same time bringing big time boxing back to Ireland. The home fans are getting the chance to see their boy go up against a genuine world class talent.
Not something we see often on your bills Frank...

When Bunce was asking Maloney the other week why Munroe wasn't getting a shot like Dunne, Frank's reply was interesting I thought in that he felt Dunne was basically being fed to the wolves here - they know he will get beaten and isn't world class and might as well a bit of cash. They want Munroe to win a title when he fights for one.

Just because someone criticizes or questions the route a boxer is taking does not mean they think they could do the job better, what I object to is boxers/managers taking cheap shots at the guys who are actually willing to take the risks in their careers.
Like sligobhoy said, we do not watch and support boxers to see how much money they make.

Peters and Dunne have pulled of a huge coup getting this fight in Dublin and some may say that Dunne is only in the position he is in because of hype, money, etc but it would not matter how much money Peters offered or how much over hyping went into Dunne's career in the past, if he did not have the talent to back it up in the first place, he would not be fighting for a world title right now.The boy deserves it and I'm sure he will give it his all.
Come on Dunne!!
