One of the great venues (for me anyway) the Albert Hall is set to host boxing again after a break of nearly 10 years.
This is after Westminster council reinstated the original royal charter bestowed by Queen Victoria in 1871.

The venue's chief executive, David Elliot, said: "Boxing and wrestling have been part of the Albert Hall's charter since it opened. When licensing regulations changed a few years ago, we omitted them as an oversight. This will allow us to bid for major events such as world title fights.

"I can understand the anxiety that boxing and wrestling may attract a more boisterous audience, but it is misplaced. We are only going to be staging prestigious one-off events."

It would be nice to see shows back there, I think the last one was Spencer Olivers when he lost his European title.

Last one was when Barrera smashed Paul Lloyd and Julius beat Danny. 1999. Far too long ago. The greatest venue for boxing - when it's full.

Terrible night, I remember the hype for that bill. It was almost considered a showcase for Naz.
