I think Rendal deserves a crack at the belt,but i would favour Dunne for the win,a win by stoppage on last night performance.

If Dunne is as good as he was last night he'd stop Munroe.
The difference between World and European level, despite the Martinez loss.

I reckon he should have the fight with Munroe, and I think he'll win, then possibly make a fight with Molitor or even Cabellero(who doesn't seem all that too me), avoid Lopez at all costs if he wants to keep a little run going because Lopez would literally smash him(and Vazquez, Marquez, Cabellero etc.) to pieces.

I'm not sure Maloney has done himself any favours with all his comments in the build up to the fight. He pretty much was saying that Dunne was going to get dismantled and he only got the fight cause the Cordoba camp knew it'd be a cert.

There were sizeable offers on the table at one point that Frank turned his nose up at, and given the way Maloney has matched Rendall thus far, I think he is more concerned about racking up whatever change he can get from EBU defences than putting him in with Dunne, especially after Dunne looked so impressive. I think it is hard to imagine Rendall beating Dunne over 12, and he hasn't got the power to exploit Dunne's weak chin.

Stylistically it is still a good match up for a first defence in Dublin for the Dunne camp, but I doubt they want it enough to up their previous offer to Munroe. Was it 80k that was offered previously? I can't remember the exact figure.

Well Ring mag have Munroe at #9 or #10 at super bantam, so technically it's a world level title defence.

Most of Dunne's opponents - apart from Cordoba, Pickering and Martinez - are obscure. Is he going to make title defences against obscurities? If he does that would be a terrible shame.

Now that Dunne has taken a belt - the hard way I might add - why the hell should he hand Munroe and his manager a pay day after Maloney's antics?
When Dunne was crying out for the Munroe fight for a chance to resurrect his career (and offering ridiculous money, too), Maloney pilloried and mocked him in the press.
Now, all has changed utterly. Munroe/Maloney bottled it, Dunne grabbed his chance at the big time and the boot is on the other foot.
I expect Dunne/Peters won't be doing Munroe/Maloney too many favours in the immediate future. I see a couple of handy defences and then a push towards Cabalerro.

Yup,i kinda agree Munroe/Maloney wouldnt give Dunne the chance to fight for Rendal's euro Belt so in hindsight why should Dunne Give Munroe the chance to fight for the wba.

It would be a great fight tho.

I am amazed at some of the opinions on here, Dunne done very well Saturday night but lets not get carried away.

He was wobbling everytime time he got hit as was the ex champion and it now turns out the x champion struggled to make the weight and was weight drained and just to throw more controversey into this Dunne was behind on all official scorecards, I actually had Dunne 2 rounds down going into the 11th. I must say that I was very impressed with his heart and determination which was the key factor. Unless Dunne is matched very carefully he will not reign for long and even in boxing the best laid plans and carefull matching does not work out. Points in case Khan v Prescott, Napa on Friday night.

As for the post suggesting a shift of power from Munroe to Dunne that is laughable, I have chosen a path for Munroe and I also now believe we are still in the driving seat and Munroe's route is mapped out.

Also Dunne needs Munroe more than Munroe needs Dunne.

The Munroe v Dunne fight makes the most sense and will draw the biggest crowd but it is still a long way off.

It is up to Ireland's to Don King if he wants to make the fight. That is the only ace he does hold but I stick to my statement Munroe does not need Dunne.

Is there a lot for Munroe at Euro level? - there was an article saying he was being lined up for a Commonwealth title fight for instance.

Dunne looked impressive, won at a high pace, was able to survive and finish big. I'd think he's in the driver's seat, no offence to Maloney.

We will have to see if Dunne grows into some formidable world champ. Or if he gets knocked out by his first world class challenger. Then the scales will shift again.

Regardless, I would be very disappointed in Dunne is he doesn't fight Munroe. It's hard to forget Dunne-Martinez, but if Dunne were to beat Munroe it'd make up for it.

Dunne-Munroe seems to tick all the boxes for a good title fight.

on a side note Frank i thought yr show on friday was pretty well-matched stuff.

I was glad to see my brummie lad Max Maxwell give Webb a real good workout. he put in a great performance for an 'opponent', eh? same goes for Nelson vs Sexton, two really nice little martches they were mate

also it was nice to see you come into the ring and talk to the opponents after the decision, make them feel appreciated andall

Also Dunne needs Munroe more than Munroe needs Dunne.

But Dunne is regarded by the majority of fans (on here anyway and sicne Saturday night's performance) as the better fighter.

PLUS Dunne has a world belt and Munroe only has a Euro title.

PLUS Dunne is hugely popular in Ireland and just sold 10,00 tickets, while Munroe is a bin man who fights in Leisure Centres.

PLUS You admitted on Bunce's show you were afraid to take on the guy Dunne just KO'ed.


Dunne doesn't need Munroe one bit. He'll fill the O2 again for a few handy defences - Rendall missed a huge payday and it's killing both of you!!!!

I think the only reason Rendal will get a look in is because he is decently ranked and has no power while every other top super bantam seems to be a heavy hitter, but Dunne is definitely in the drivers seat now. Rendal no longer has anything that he wants other than his ranking to make it look like a good defence.
