Not sure what fight the judges were watching here but it seems Bernard badly needed the knockout!!! The scaores were (95-92, 96-91, 97-90)

Well done Bernard for pulling it out of the bag but I really would have had the fight a bit closer!!!

I know,

not being biased but although cordoba had 2 kds to dunnes 1, i thought dunne was at least level or 1 pt behind.

So If Dunne had only score 2 KD's in ther 11th and won the last round he would still have lost the fight....Not gonna start bitching but I would have been if Dunne had got jobbed!

i had dunne 2 behind at the time of the stoppage, so, in my opinion, yes he did need the KO, and he did well...

If Dunnes hadnt have scored that luck KD in the third than I had him losing the first five rounds. I have him down by two going into the 11th and needed to win both of those for a draw. So its not crazy to think that the judges had Cordoba way ahead because a lot fo rounds were close.

I agree with the card of 95-92 but the other two are way off the mark.

If it had gone all the way, Dunne scored knockdowns in that dramatic last round. He certainly caught up with the guy. Guys from countries like Panama usually do well on the cards in WBA title fights, wherever the fight is set.

If Dunne had lost that fight by that margin the headlines would have read,
"Three judges found floating in the River Liffey on Sunday Morning, 9000 drunk Irish people are being questioned in relation to the incident".

i had it 95-94 for Cordoba and I really fancied a draw in the fight because it was so close on my card.

Because Dunne went twice in one round, did that count as a 10-7, I scored it that way?

What on earth were they watching? I had Dunne 3 or 4 up until the crazy last round. I thought someone at the presser told me Dunne was up 3,5, and 6 points at the close That sounded more likely.

Your scorecard seems a bit ridiculous as well. Cordoba was consistently pressing the action where as Dunne wasn't busy enough at times and allowed himself to be pinned along the ropes. The crowd and the commentators were going crazy every time Dunne threw anything, so I'm glad to see the judges weren't swayed.(In terms of who was ahead, 97-90, 96-91 were way to wide and 95-92 is questionable)

I scored rounds 1, 4, 5, 8, 10 for Cordoba and had it 95-93 for him at the time of the stoppage. These all seemed to be clear rounds to score. I had round three 10-9 for Dunne because he was being dominated until the knockdown and round five 10-7 for Cordoba.

I would've loved to see the commentators reaction had they announced Cordoba the winner

I had Cordoba winning 95-93 going into the 11th. Those cards were fornicating ridiculous.

Please explain what Cordoba was doing so effectively to warrant the scoring? I was watching in the arena and can admit that maybe the crowd pulled me in a certain direction at times But seriously, if I re-watch it on RTE I might see a different fight and will be willing to change my opinion.

Not saying this forum in particular, but there seems to be a certain bitterness going around that Dunne won. It may be sour grapes because so many people were predicting he would get his head knocked off and it turned out that he dropped the champion four times, but who knows.

Cordoba was moving forward in these rounds, maintaining a consistent work rate, landing to the body, while Dunne was on the back foot and would only open up once occasionally to a chorus of cheers from the crowd that made it seemed like he had Cordoba hurt or something.

I dont think it warranted the scoring the judges had, but Cordoba was ahead in my view.

That's fair enough. I'm interested to hear different viewpoints and I will view it again on RTE as I said. I thought that Dunne was doing his best work when countering Cordoba but Brian Peters said later he was pleased that Bernard was doing his best work when pushing Cordoba back. So a few conflicting views going around.

I had Cordoba ahead.... I think Dunne needed a KO to win the fight, but it would have been close with two 10-9 rounds at the end.

I had Cordoba 94-93 Dunne and crusader was right about what Cordoba was doing. Yes Dunne countered well at times and it won him some rounds(5 on my card), but I also think he did his better work while coming forward.
Some rounds were close though and I think the 4 point gap is justifiable(as is a card with Dunne ahead by one/two), the other two however were not.

Looks like most had something similar. Sometimes it's important that you dont get swayed by commentators, crowd etc when watching fights on the TV. I usually keep the sound on but sometimes it's better to press the mute button because it's easier to score a fight :)

Agreed i watched it in a pub with no sound and i thought bernard needed to do something big to win I also felt lee was in big danger .

I just scored the fight with the sound down and had Cordoba 2 points a head and there was a couple that may have been draws that i felt Cordoba shaded another person may have had Dunne winning , so all in all the judges were way off IMO.

Dunne seemed about 3 points down due to the bad 5th round which he may have lost by a 3 point margin. otherwise fight was quite even - back and forth I'd call it - with Dunne dropping Cordoba 3x later on.
