Found this on youtube. McCall seems to bail out in this. Ok, so Tyson might hit him in his hip joint or kidney, but I wouldn't have thought Oliver would have been so easily discouraged!

Its amazing to think McCall was a sparring partner for a prime Tyson. Although the short clip does suggest otherwise, I would say it would have been solid sparring for Mike & beneficial!

McCall always boxed like a sparring partner in his professional career, showing little fire until the final two rounds when he'd suddenly realize he was behind on points.

- McCall a well constructed complete nutter.

An acquaintance interviewed him for an article and said McCall gave him the shakes he was so intimidating. Nutters scare the bejabbers out of sane folk. Just try hanging out with Charles Manson for a day in a protected prison environment.

Crazy's why Liston got so intimidated by young Clay.

I know it's just sparring, but Tyson was never close to this level again after marrying King, Givens, and her mama. McCall was limping after that hipbone shot which Tyson threw like it was nothing.

Good find. He does seem to give up easily especially considering there was talk that McCall regularly gave Tyson problems and decked him in one session. I wouldn't read too much into though, McCall was a tough guy with a granite jaw. Sparring rarely mimics what would happen in an actual fight. Brit cruiserweight Glenn McCrory was a regular Tyson sparring partner and was never floored in 100 rounds of sparring with Tyson. In a real fight he wouldn't have lasted 1 round.

Plus fighters work on different things when sparring.
They make 'rules' for themselves so they can improve
aspects of their game. After all your paying the guy
for rounds and work. Something to forge your self against.
Not for a fight day in day out.
