Berto v Urango

I know not british boxers, but this has the potential to be a classic, its apparently happening in May.
Urango steps up a weight, which shouldn't be to hard for him, as he's one of the biggest light welters i've seen.
Berto is still a bit of an unknown when it comes to his chin

yes it does, i like urango . I think berto is a bit wild and stiff to me. he is like a prospect with a world title

At what weight? I am guessing for Berto's world title, rather than Urango's?

I'm not sure if berto is totally comfortable with southpaws. I'm equally unsure if he can go 12 with a big puncher without getting clobbered. he'd have an obvious athletic advantage over Urango but he'd better make sure he throws his combinations and gets away again. I am not sure that berto has, at this point, the boxing brain and experience to go 12 with Urango without, at some point, getting drawn into a slugfest. and I really didn't like the way he got hit with right hooks over his shoulder against Collazo.

somewhat against my inclinations I fancy Urango to at least give Berto a Collazo-style scare. I'd lump a bit on a stoppage win at decent odds

Urango can beat Berto, Urango is tough and Berto if quite fragille and overrated.

Unless Berto holds Urango can win.

Hatton only won because he held, Urango is relentless if not talented.

You would have to fancy Berto who has fantastic skills and a future top 5 P4P he continues with this great form and realises his potential as the fights get bigger. But Urango performed very well in his last fight, and although skill-wise you cant see him matching Andre, like someone said he's relentless and a tough kid.

Potentially a very good fight, will surely be on HBO wont it?

Berto has not overly impressed me - and will lose that title as soon as he fights a true top 3 Welterweight.

Mosely, Cotto, Margarito.

I thought Collazo was robbed myself.

It's a joke that he has the most prestigious belt, yet fights a light welterweight ? fishy.

i agree with DG, i think that's twice now sorry mate won't make a habit of it

if Berto isn't holding he will be taking shots, if he isn't clever enough to hold now and then I could see this fight going away from him.

If there's anyone Berto could school it would be Urango but Urango is a monster puncher

Be more interested if it was at 140.

I am going to go for Berto 117-111, after the first few rounds are split. Berto's speed and better boxing ability should get him through, but Urango has that puncher's chance. Can anyone inform me how good Berto's chops are?

Fight's off isn't it? Urango didn't like the money.

He was a supermiddle in the Ams so he can take a punch. Has been stunned on a few occasions, mind.

Yes Berto was dropped by Cosme Rivera.

Cosme is no mug though, despite being a nearly-man.

Couldn't say for sure mate. I only saw him Pan Am fights for Haiti. Didn't see his US ones.

Ha ha, is that a diss at the way Ricky pronounces Zabs surname?

Shame about Urango pulling out, 147 would suit his massive frame better. It may even afford him to put some muscle on those stick thin legs of his.

Is it on or off?Berto should have the smart skills but Urango is powerful and can expose any weaknesses. Saying that I thought Collazo beat Berto but Andre seems very well "connected".
