Mayweather vs Pacquaio at 147 I think will happen... Mosley as a fall back.

If Pacquiao wants to continue at 140 - then JMM or at a push Zab Judah.

Hatton is just far to big for him, Pacquiao is a 130lb fighter and his two fights above that weight can't be read into to much, people seem to forget it was only 12 months ago when JMM beat him and got jobbed on the cards.

He seems to have acquired some sort of superman status after beating a weight drained, over the hill DLH.

Fair enough about Pacquiao might have acquired some sort of super-human status since beating De La Hoya, but Manny was the underdog, most picked Oscar to win, some even picked him to win quite easily!

Whether or not Oscar was weight-drained, that does not take anything away from Pacquiao's victory. Manny still had to go out there & perform. He did the business!

Hatton-Pacquiao is a 50-50 fight imo. In this months issue of Boxing Monthly, Billy Graham gives his views on the fight. As usual, Billy is biased towards Ricky, which is understandable. He says if he was Freddy Roach he wouldn't take the fight against Hatton. What kind of rubbish is that? Roach & Pacquiao are not seeking bums, they are willing to take on the best!

Billy has some interesting comments in respect of Hatton's victory over Malignaggi. Hatton has improved under Floyd snr & Ricky is looking very sharp this far out from fight night!

The winner will be embarassed with big fight choices. Mayweather, Mosley, JMM and maybe even Cotto would all be lucrative fights.

Who is refereeing? :P

I'm going to Pacquiao by late-ish KO. If Hatton was in his prime I'd choose him.

It's only a few lbs. I'm guessing it might be something like Pacquiao 148 lbs and Hatton 152 lbs on the night.

Asterix, does Hatton only put on around 12lbs before a fight? I would've bet big money that it would've been closer to 156lbs.

Against Castillo Hatton was 149 lbs on the night.
Against Malignaggi Hatton was 152 lbs on the night.

That's according to HBO.

Pacquiao was 147 lbs on the night vs David Diaz. I'd expect Pacquiao to be 1-3 lbs heavier at light welter. It wouldn't surprise me if Hatton and Pacquiao weighed the same on the night.

Are these HBO weights right in your opinion? 149lbs against Castillo doesn't fit right with me.

I really don't know, but I would lean towards yes.

I am yet to be convinced. I would personally guess that Hatton has never been under 154lbs come fight night in his last ten bouts. But what do I know. I will believe HBO, give them boys the benefit of the doubt, and stand corrected.

14 lbs is absolutely massive draining. That's the kind of draining that Paul Williams and Edison Miranda do.

Hatton always looks emaciated on the scales then healthy looking come the time of his fight - I wouldn't be surprised at 154lbs.

Do you know his fight night weight against Collazo and Mayweather?

Not Mayweather. Against Collazo it was big, and he paid the price for that. Weighed in at 147 lbs, rehydrated/ate like a mofo to 160 lbs.

Victor Ortiz and Yuriorkis Gamboa are also huge drainers. Gamboa is a light welterweight by fight night (so Gamboa weighs the same as Casamayor and Katsidis!) Ortiz is a light middle.

I really think Hatton is going to pull it out and shock most of the "experts". Pac has a sub par chin and has been hurt, floored, and stopped on multiple occasions. He was almost knocked out by a Nedal Hussien jab (and it was reported Jorge Linares stunned him with a jab in sparring), rocked by many smaller fighters from 110-130 pounds, and the second Ricky lands cleanly he will be hurt again. The question is can Hatton deal with the speed? I believe he can. He is much faster than a dried out ODLH and is excellent at cutting off the ring, something which is paramount to success against Manny. I see PAC doing well early but eventually getting hurt and worn down by the later rounds.

Ricky Hatton isn't an older, weight drained, part time fighter, he is in/around his prime, at a weight where he has never been defeated, and a strong mofo.

Then again I though De La Hoya would beat Pacquiao

Wrong on both accounts

I heard (probably on here but I'm not totally sure), that Hatton usually enters the ring at about 153/154 pounds.

A Boxers metabolism is an interesting subject, but surely this heavy weight-loss then sudden massive gain continually can't do your body any good?

It's funny isn't it?

Pac is would not have beaten Morales or Barrera in their prime either.

Hatton by KO!

:D

Pac is and should be the favourite, however i saw 15/8 on Hatton and those odds are very big. I think anything above 6/4 is great value.

Hard one to call, Pacquiao has a edge in speed and fights well on the backfoot. Ricky isn't the hardest to hit although he does close the gap very fast it'll be interesting to see how many shots Pacquiao can land on the way in. Also whether Hatton can get up in close enough to bust Pacquiao up. I see Hatton marking up a lot as he is going to eat some punches but I can also see Pacquiao just not being strong enough on the inside.

I don't agree with anyone saying a result either way is clear cut

It's funny how you say HBO are wrong yet don't say why or what the correct weights were.

Edit: if this is what you're referring to then you're crazy.
