Good fight, 34-2 is not bad at all. Not a huge puncher, but he doesn't need to be. Tough fight for Khan if it comes off.

i think this will be the first true lightweight that will be able to stand up to khans shots for 12 rounds gonna be hard for khan will be a good fight for him

I like this , although he was outclassed by pac it dosent matter this in my eyes will be a great scap with diaz favorite slightly in my eyes and i dislike khan but if this fight comes off i dont think anyone can say that hes just beating up smaller ,older guys anymore.

I'm picking Diaz by KO, not unpredictably.

Barring some horrific cut or other impeding injury that makes Khan look like a superstar against a punching bag Diaz will do a number on Amir.

Diaz is tough enough to hang around for the duration and take Khan into the trenches, he took some heavy leather from Manny Pac before going down and he's got some guts. I don't see Khan's pitterpatters bothering him. There is an obvious speed discrepancy and Khan may outfox Diaz early doors but there's no way this guy is folding.

Plus, he's fought at the light welter limit for most of his career and has a good all-rounder style.

At some point in this fight David Diaz will hit Amir Khan. When he does, Khan will unravel again. The bottom line is that Diaz will be the best live fighter that Amir has ever faced, the sort of 'gatekeeper to the top 10' type of guy who, in order to beat, you need to show you can guts it out with him. Khan has never showed he can do that vs anyone of this standard. This is the sort of fighter who is going to land shots on you, no matter who you are.

I'd prefer Katsidis. He's already said he wants Khan on fight n ews

thats the problem for khan now .. the opposition needs to be world class or near world class .. just not convinced his chin will hold up to anything near a worldclass fighters punch

This Diaz is a safer option than Juan
A Katsidis match-up would be a real 50/50 gamble ... Khan has the boxing ability to turn him inside out .. but Katsidis would only have to land with the jab to turn Khan inside out

I hope its Diaz that fights khan next.
Diaz will win this . at least he can take a shot unlike khan.

I'm sceptical, i really doubt the Diaz fight will happen. Why is it that us Brit fans by into the bullsh*t time after time?

The only thing in favour of this fight happening that i can see is that Khan is under Roach's tutelage, but even then, i still see his career being dragged out and milked for all its worth.

Disagree to an extent, very strong LW and a big puncher, look at how he was beating on Morales in the late rounds and what he did to Cruz, plus he had Holt down too

Diaz is slow, who knows what the Pacquiao beating has done, fairly one dimensional, and will be bamboozled by the speed of Khan. With Roach there of course he knows how to completely destroy Diaz. It was Pacquiao's destruction of Diaz, more so than his performance against a old/weight drained DLH why I am so concerned for Ricky.

Easier fight to call than a Barrera rematch IMO, but one that I hope will get the critics of their back. They wanted a live true Lightweight with world class pedigree - if this is true, they have one.

Diaz would be stupid to take this fight as he would gain nothing.

Of course he took a horrific, life-shortening beating at the hands of Manny Pac, and i'm assuming hes coming off the obligatory years lay off?

Bunce when he lists the dangerous lightweights for Khan - always includes the "three diaz's" - off course might not now that Julio got beat at the weekend - but now one of these has been linked (the other two have had career shortening beatings in their last fight also) already we have had one poster saying it is "typical"... I wonder how many more we have.

I'm sure even JMM will be deemed "past it" if suffering from a career shortening fight if he fought Amir in the summer with some posters.

I think Khan will win fairly easily Diaz isnt the greatest and will struggle with Khans quick hands

No David Diaz does not have a big punch, do you know anything about him? And I said top 15 WITH a punch, Diaz is defiantly top 15, but he doesn't have power. He is a fighter who plays right into Khans strengths/weaknesses. Why do you think reluctant Warren is discussing him as an opponent?
