What a fight , i think there should be a rematch. O donnell seemed to wait too long at times

Hmmm I thought Watson had that tbh, gutted for the lad I think he's been on the rough end of a decision tonight.

Bad decision that. McCracken looked embarrassed. Richie Davies scores for a southerner again! The man is a shambles.

I think Watson should have gotten it, he landed more and better punches. O´Donnell hurt him twice to the body, but hey it´s always good to know you can win a fight without doing too much.

I don't know but I would say his parents are Irish but he has spent some amount of time in Southern Ireland hearing from his accent.

I had Watson just winning it,cracking fight,Odonnell,if he had use his jab and not wait to open up,would have ran away with it,but credit goes to Watson who didnt allow Odonnell to boxed his fight.

Emile Tiedt is the most biased ref / judge.

Also I would have given to O Donnell by 1 point.

I thought it was a draw.

Two contrasting styles for me which blended for a decent little fight.

Yeah bit gutted for Watson as well especially as he's a fellow northerner - I thought he won a close but clear decision. After round 9 McCracken told O'Donnell he needed every round - that says it all. I think the hometown advantage paid dividends for O'Donnell and the judges were swayed by his vocal support- he should consider himself a lucky boy.

But the thing is I think he could have made the fight a lot easier for himself. I mean he ain't half frustrating to watch (well for me anyway) and I can only imagine how his trainer McCracken feels! If he gets his tactics right he could win a rematch handily. You have to ask what kind of a boxing brain O'Donnell has - he's a six foot one welterweight yet he has a non-existent jab(or never uses it) and fights down to his opponent. Obviously he shouldn't stick his chin out in the air but he shouldn't be crouching like he does either.

Spot on Odonnell is a very talented boxer and i felt frustated that he wasnt opening up and boxing the way he can and he would have made it alot easier but his only 23 and a commerwealth belt to his name,so fair doo's.

It was close. I've never been 100% convinced by O'Donnell and all this talk of the untapped ability he supposedly has but both showed guts and determination and it was hilarious how Claude Abrams just completely calmed the commentary team down with a more sobered view of the bout

O'Donnell could go on to face Brook next but realistically these two should rematch first to settle matters.

If I remember rightly ODonnell's family are from the Galway area. Good fight but I thought Watson just edged it. A rematch would be most welcome. Either man would be a good opponent for Kell Brook if he gets past Mutley I reckon.

You maybe getting mixed up with Mc Donagh because he is from Galway.

Funny moment in the 8th when O'Donnell clearly rocked Watson on the ropes in the corner and Duke said he wasn't hurt but was merely playing rope-a-dope!!

Great fight. I had Watson winning by four rounds. Although some rounds were close-ish, it seemed like a very poor 'home' decision at the end of it all. Watson dominated the second half of that fight and 'old manned' O'Donnell.

O'Donnell won't go anywhere near Watson again, that's for sure!

Felt a bit sorry for Watson as I think he edged the fight - but some of the rounds were very tight so could have gone either way.

As for a rematch, I think Watson's chance has gone. He brought his 'A' game to the fight and O'Donnell didn't apply his fight plan IMO as he should have kept it long. Bit of a worry for O'Donnell for the future how he lost his composure and got lured into an unneccesary war!

Still, a cracking fight and a good spectacle.

I thought Watson was very disappointing. His accuracy was miles off all night, and his habit of "cleverly" moving away every 20 seconds lost him the decision, no doubt. Richie would not have liked that one bit.

My initial thought about O'Donnell was that you need to stay on him for 12 rounds and he could fold. Watson had a crap strategy.

He'd been out a year ok, but still.

Also, I think it was a very average fight. No great shakes. Neither fighter really fought well I thought.

Very good fight. I admire Watson, he's what Boxing is all about. A true, tough gritty fighter who is prepared to fight anybody. Somewhat resembles the fighters of old. Great style to watch.

O'Donnell is very silky and i remember being impressed with him before his Vegas defeat.

Good luck to them both in the future.

i dont no what fight abbo was watching everyone thought it was a great fight and it was, watson in my eyes just won odonnell wasnt pissing about waiting to long i think he not as good as people make out. i take my hat off to watson going down london to fight him many fighters wouldnt of, it was a credit to british boxing
