Garay no mandatory....is Green in picture ??

Just saw the WBA have released their manadtory challengers for all weights and Hugo Garay hasn't got one (a challenger, he still has the belt). Could it be they are waiting to see if Danny comes back with a bang, and offer him the mandatory ?? The wba will make a decision on the mandatory before the 22/6/09 for a defence before the 22/8/09. I am not aware of any eliminator coming up for the WBA.....wishful thinking I know, but hey he never lost the belt !!

hes not gonna fight garay now, after retiring just too avoid him.

I havent come up with anything !!! It is not speculation or rumour it was more just to get your thoughts on it. If you knew the way the WBA worked (and not just them) you would not think it so laughable. Green was their champ and it's not like he has been away for four of five years. I hardly think Green was afraid of Garay, he was a great match up or Green.

Where?

I don't think anyone with a punch and chin like Danny is scared of anyone, he got in the ring and sparred a loose cannon in Lights out Toney, whilst Toney was screaming to his trainer to get his gun, Danny kept pounding away. I just can't see him being scared of an Argie, but you can prove me wrong.

Where?

the day he retired i heard it from someone who knows someone who knows someone etc......this same person also said, the retirement is BS and will eventually come back and fight mundine...he heard garay was looking phenomonal in the build up and started getting confidence issues.

I wont say anybody's info is shit, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I saw the two Erdei v Garay fights (I know they were a while ago) and sure Garay has a great chin....but Erdei doesnt hit like Danny. Garay was made for Green because he would have stood there and traded for several rounds making a very exciting fight before Greens power became too much. My first post was just putting it out there, and wondering why the WBA had given their champs a mandatory and not Garay. Does anybody else think it possible the WBA may approach Green....regardless whether he accepts or not.

No way Danny Green was scared on anyone ... Biggest load of BS I have ever heard

I hope he does get another crack at the WBA title after he has a few warm up fights as I reckon he is a huge chance of getting the title back from Garay.

If he does have the title it may be more of a carrot for Mundine as he is always banging on about been a future 3 division champ (insert wanking icon here). Not that I can see Mudine beat him a LHW...

It was from a reliable source. The window washer of the third cousin of Danny's mother's hairdresser's great aunt.

Since winning the vacant title last July Garay defended it in in November against Braehmar, who won the EBU title a few weeks later. I do not think he owes the WBA a defence.

Green isn't in the picture mate. Thats why he retired to avoid any good light heavy weights and he will do the same again.Green is the most over rated boxer i have ever seen.He to stiff to beat Mundine and hes punchers r to obvious and slow.Danny cant even block a punch. And if he didnt avoid Garay then why did he retire from boxing and then come back after a year. Dannys full of shit.He also stated that Tarver is to scared to fight him.(BULLSHIT).MUNDINE SMASHED GREEN end of story.

i think i'm being sucked in here, but i'll bite anyway.

Green is overated ehh.... Marcus Beyer and Eric Lucas, both well regarded ex champs, may disagree with you. Beyer has been knocked down 3 times in 17 rounds by Green. Here is what happens to Mundine when he went to Germany to fight the light handed Ottke.

Mundine didn't smash green, he beat him...but never knocked him down, never really had him in trouble. It was a good win against a universally recognised weight-drained fighter.

And finally, the story is yet to end. Hence Danny coming out of retirement. Money talks mate.

What weight did Green fight Beyer,Lucas, mundine and rest of hes pro career at? thats right super middle weight.Gets bashed from choc and uses it as an excuse.Danny didnt lose because of weight its a lack of skill and movement.Danny can only brawl he cant complete the art form of boxing.Hes body is as stiff as heavy weight and he is only 80kg.Dont get wrong for the lack of skill Danny still can mix with some good fighters and he is one himself and has a massive heart. But when i keep hearing that choc isnt better than Green and 99 people out of 100 who tell you Danny is better they really rugby league and AFL fans.I like Danny mate its hard not to but he is, if not more full of shit than choc just choc gets mook and Danny doesnt.

P.S. Ottke trainer who is also Beyer trainer said that Ottke is way better that Beyer and why didnt Big bad Danny take up the challenge Ottke gave him.If he is such an easy beat.

good reply.

Just a couple of things. Many, many fighters move up in weights as their careers progress. There are more than two reasons for this, but i'll give you the main ones. Money, there is more money to be made in the next division up. Secondly the fighter, as they age, matures and condition become unable to make the weight division they originally started at. That is what happened to Danny. He just could not cut the weight any longer.

Wether Danny is better than Choc is a good question. One that in my opinion has not been fully answered. The weight they fight at will have a bearing on this though. Not sure how you can say that he is full of shit though, but that is a matter of personal opinion.

With regards to Beyer and Ottke, I'm not sure who is better. I've never heard comment on it to be honest, I think Ottke may have been to the better boxer. However i never said he was an easy beat. I said he had light hands. Big difference. Out of his 34 wins, only 6 (including Choc) were knocked out. I don't remember Ottke calling Green out to be honest
