Seems like a nice guy. I'm glad to see he's got lots outside of boxing.

I was in Liverpool a couple of weeks after Micky had thrown the towel out in the Earl-Katsidis fight. Micky was Lord of the Manor in Liverpool that night.
Every fan in the place was paying him due respect.

Yeah and doing a damn good job as well, They shouldn't have forced him to retire in the UK, his twinkle toes are still as majestic as ever. :DDD

For sure, if Earl had won that it would have been an amazing story. However, Earl didn't win the bout, and indeed hasn't been the same since.

In retrospect, what was gained by allowing him to fight on?

No one has a crystal ball. For me, Vann didn't stop it because he thought Earl wasn't done. And that was justified about 10 seconds later.

Wasn't Katsidis on proper Enzo Macc legs?

Yeah but he gave Katsidis an 8 count without him actually touching down, had he not done Earl could have stopped him and made the decision of throwing the towel back out even more amazing

No where near Enzo-like legs. A mini wobble that's all it was.

Vann was fitness conditioner at Leeds Rhinos ..don't know if he's still involved.
