Is this really the right challenger for the Commonwealth title?

Hows he fighting for the Commenwealth and how did he fight for the Ghana title in his first fight why not fight the guy who beat him in his last fight that would surely make more sense

I guess his 'real record' will come out soon - he's probably 12-3 or something. I really can't see him being 0-3, although with Frank, you never know.

We will get the usual type of talk 'They are always tough from this area of Africa' and 'His record is better than can be verified on Boxrec'

according to bunce he says boxrec have got it wrong this guy has a better record than 0-3 hes had like 13-3

I remember Mark Hobson fighting a guy who supposedly had a draw with Friday Aniyuha on his record - it must have been at fishing or boules or something - because the fella didn't look like he knew what he was supposed to do.

I think there were reservations whether the bloke who turned up with the passport was actually the guy in the picture.

Hobson took him apart but in no hurry - as the fella looked to the ref to enquire why he was letting this big lump hit him.

It was very peculiar.

Just looked at Warrens website and they state.

'Ghanaian Asamoah Wilson who has won 12 of his 17 bouts with six stoppages'

so thats 3 versions of the guys record we have so far.

a lot of Ghanaian fighters dont have fights listed on boxrec, I dont know why but I'm pretty sure Wilson has fought a lot more times than his boxrec record suggests.

I dont expect him to trouble Broadhurst though but we've seen Ghanaian kids come over in the past and give British fighters really tough fights

I doubt he fought a 12 round National title fight on his debut. So you'd presume at least half a doxzen fights preceded this - to what standard is hard to know - but I cannot recall a Ghanain ever getting sparked out in a round - can you?

i can definatly find 1 win, he stopped someone for the Ghanaian title.

Pull a bloke out of an African pub to fight for the Commonwealth title then claim, i'm sure he must have had a load of fights af he is from Accra and all men from Accra are experienced boxers, but we can't find any record as they don't keep them in Africa.
Then he makes a fool of himself and our sport and the British establishment look to pass the buck

i'd heard at first that he had a record of 12(6)-3(1)-1 but not from a legitimate source. when i saw the record i thought it wasnt a bad opponent but it seems his record could be anything, cant wait to see what the announcer says his record is

why are african fighters always described as 'hungry'

no great suprise with these sorts of titles, the bloke Willie Limond was meant to fight for the highly coverted WBU title a couple of months back has a 6(4)-2(2)-0 record and won the Zambia super featherweight title in his first pro bout, nice!

No one knows though, who would be suprised if we were short changed again

I personally dont think Broadhurst is all that good and cant see him going much further. I think Frank will get him a British Title shot (maybe for a vacant title in a year or so), but how far he will go I dont know.

At the moment there are some decent fighters around his weight domestically, and I think these would be much harder tests than the Africans. In fact I think Haskins would beat him.

Would have liked Bunce to have named his source for his record, he did name what had it wrong... I KNOW Boxrec don't get it right all the time, especially not the Africans, but at the same time not convinced FW.TV would either.
