Mucklestone was a former University of Washington (Seattle, WA, USA) football star who helped boxer Frank Farmer early on. It is believed he was very briefly Farmer's manager--perhaps for only a bout or two. Mucklestone became a Seattle attorney, who, by 1916, had his office at 467 Empire Building, Seattle, according to a business card found in Farmer's surviving scrapbook. He later practiced law in Chicago. Members of his family practice law today (2006) in the Puget Sound area of Washington state. It is believed that the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle has a photo of Mucklestone "running the ball around the end” during his football days at the UW.
