Ted Moore first came to the United States in 1924. For ten years after his professional boxing career ended, Moore was a promoter, matchmaker and trainer of young boxers in the Vancouver, British Columbia, area of Canada.
The August 15, 1945 New York Times, p. 19, reported that Moore defeated Max Schmeling in Hamburg, Germany in 1922, at age 17 years. And that his European victories included a 20-round decision over Bill Bombardier Wells and Maurice Prennioer, champion of France. The Times also reported that Moore died at age 40.
He died penniless at a hospital in Vancouver, B.C., according to contemporary newspaper accounts.
