Head clashes were a problem in the first couple rounds. Action was paused in Round 2 following a clash to allow the referee to view the head of Annunziata which was found to not be cut. Culcay battered Annunziate in the second with combinations both to the body and upstairs. Annunziata was warned in the round to avoid holding. Round 5 was another strong one for Culcay as he landed heavy shots to the head of his game, but over-matched opponent. In Round 7, a straight right hand hurt Annunziata and a right uppercut put him down on his backside. He got to his feet and action continued, but a followup barrage from Culcay caused the referee to step in and call an end to the bout as Annunziata was against the ropes and taking punishment.
