- Fight was on the undercard of Omar Narvaez vs. Jose Cabrera for the WBO Super Flyweight Title.
The all-action bout saw both men trade early with little regard for defense. A left hand from Contreras sent Munoz back into the ropes and likely kept him from going down as at one point he was fighting with his head stuck under the top rope. Munoz controlled Round 2 and pounded Contreras at times with heavy shots. A left hook to the body sent Contreras down midway through Round 3. He got to his feet at the count of eight and was attempting to put his own mouthpiece back in as action continued. Munoz came forward and threw a barrage with Contreras backed into a corner. Contreras went down to his backside at which time the referee came forward and waved an end to the bout.
