Tomasz Adamek 224 lbs lost to Eric Molina 232 lbs by KO at 3:00 in round 10 of 12

  • Molina wins vacant IBF Inter-Continental Heavyweight title. Tomasz Adamek announced his retirement after the knockout loss.[[1]]
  • Billed as 'Polsat Boxing Night'. After the bout, Molina stated in the Polsat post fight press conference Adamek had given him 70 days to prepare for this bout, "Nobody ever gave me 70 days in training camp before. I came in prepared (for this bout). The ultimate goal is to become the first Mexican-American heavyweight champion (of the world). I will wake up every day and put everything into that."[[2]]
  • Even with the knockdown in the tenth round, if Adamek, ahead by five points on the cards, had gotten up and lost the round 10-8, he could have lost rounds 11 and 12 and still won the bout.
