  • "Dick Tiger, the Nigerian middleweight, won a shot against Pat McAteer for the latter's Empire title by stopping Jimmy Lynas, Coventry, in the 7th. Lynas forgot all his boxing by trying to outslug the hard-hitting Nigerian, who revels in a fight, especially when the opposition is willing to meet him halfway. A left hook to the head in the 5th opened a deep cut over Lynas's right eye, and in the 6th the same punch put him on the canvas for 'eight'. The end was in sight during the 7th session when the game Irish lad was dealt some punishment until the bell ended the round. During the rest he was advised to call it a day." -Ring Magazine, May 1958 issue
