Elgin 'Kid' Moore beat Allen Franks by PTS in round 6 of 6

  • Date: 1927-10-28
  • Location: Everett, Washington, USA
  • Referee: Jack Richmond

"Moore hit his opponent with everything but the water-bucket in the last three rounds but could not score a knock-out, although the bell clearly save Franks from such a defeat in the fifth.... [Franks was dropped for nine twice and saved by the bell another time.] Though clearly outclassed, Franks was out of his corner like a flash when the bell sounded for the final round. Moore stopped him with a few body blows and tried to put across the sleep producer but Franks tied him up continually by clinching and managed to finish on his feet." Everett Daily Herald
