Services will be Saturday morning at 10 at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Sharpley, Wilmington, where friends may call tomorrow night. Masonic services will be held tomorrow at 7. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Memorial Park, Wilmington. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children, P. O. BOX 10085, Wilmington.

*Also in 1941, Burley dropped a decision to [[Bobby Burns of Fort Wayne,IN|Bobby Burns]] for the Intercity Golden Gloves' welterweight championship. The Chester Times reported Burley dropped Burns with a wicked left in the first round, the force of Burley's blow was so hard that it split his glove and injured the Deacon's bad hand and he seemed unwilling to hit Burns with his damaged hand after that.

It was Dec 10, 1968 and [[Joe Frazier]] was fighting [[Oscar Bonavena]] in Philadelphia (Frazier won a 15-round decision) “I was then an amateur boxer fighting for [[Ralph Tribuani]] on his shows at Fournier Hall” recalled Ron Branch of New Castle, now a pro lightweight. “Ralph took me to Philly to see the Frazier fight and we sat at ringside with
[[Rocky Marciano]]. Ralph introduced me to Rocky and explained I was a promising amateur fighter. Rocky shook my hand and said “You look more like an altar boy.”

Tribuani made [[Chris Dundee|Chris]] and Angelo Dundee aware of Branch before his passing.
“I met Dundee in Miami Beach around 1969-1970, when I was still fighting as an amateur. I walked into the Fifth Street Gym in Miami and introduced myself to Dundee (Angelo).”

Branch fought on [[Herman Taylor]]’s final card on August 15, 1975.

After the Sugar Hart fight in 1968 Branch’s record was reported as 21-2 by the Wilmington Evening Journal. His professional record has been reported as 14-6-4.

'''Angelo Dundee''' is considered one of the greatest trainers of all-time. He learned the intricacies of the sweet science watching the great trainers at [[Stillman's Gym]] in the late 1940s.

Dundee's first world champion was [[Carmen Basilio]], who won the World Welterweight Championship from [[Tony DeMarco]] in 1955.

He moved to Miami Beach in the 1950s and helped his brother, [[Chris Dundee]], run the [[5th Street Gym (Miami)|5th Street Gym]]. Miami became a prime location to work with Cuban fighters, and the Dundee brothers thrived and turned Miami Beach into a boxing powerhouse.

Dundee is best known for training [[Muhammad Ali]]. He was hired to work with Ali in 1960 and stayed with him until his last fight in 1981.

He is also well known for his association with [[Sugar Ray Leonard]]. Dundee was hired to work with Leonard after he won the [[Olympics]] in 1976. He guided Leonard to the three world titles.
